Supergiant Oil Field Reaches Major Milestone
Tengizchevroil (TCO) has initiated operations for the Wellhead Pressure Management Project (WPMP) at the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan. This milestone allows existing plants to operate at full capacity, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion project in Tengiz.
Innovation Fuels Lower Carbon, Record Production
Chevron aims to achieve 1 million barrels of oil-equivalent per day in the Permian Basin by 2025. The company’s overall production reached a record 3.1 million barrels of oil-equivalent per day in 2023, with a 10% year-over-year increase in output from the Permian Basin.
$500 Million Fund to Invest in Lower Carbon Future
Chevron Technology Ventures (CTV) unveiled the $500 million Future Energy Fund III to support the development of lower carbon technologies. The fund will invest in companies working on carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), hydrogen technologies, and renewable fuels.
New Facility to Boost Renewable Fuels
Chevron, in partnership with Bunge, announced a new oilseed processing plant in Louisiana to meet the growing demand for renewable fuel feedstocks. The facility will process soybeans and softseeds to produce renewable fuels, contributing to lower carbon intensity in the transportation sector.
Hydrogen Facility Marks a Chevron First
Chevron’s Lost Hills solar facility in California will begin producing hydrogen in early 2026, leveraging energy from its solar field. This project represents Chevron’s first commercial electrolytic hydrogen endeavor, aligning with the company’s commitment to lower carbon intensity solutions.
