NATIONAL BIOLOGIC COORDINATORS DAY Biologic coordinators are some of the most important advocates for patients in healthcare—yet too often, their work goes unrecognized. That's why, on November 1, National Biologic Coordinators Day will recognize the daily commitment of biologic coordinators everywhere. Biologic therapy can be an important treatment option for patients. However, obtaining access to these treatments can be challenging, and patients often need help navigating the process. That's where biologic coordinators come in. A biologic coordinator is a key member of a medical practice’s office staff. They can be a doctor, nurse, physician’s assistant, medical assistant, or an office/practice manager. It's been a busy end-of-year stretch!! As I reflect on this past year, I'm super grateful for the wonderful LNC community and the network I've been able to build through LinkedIn, conferences, and other in-person networking. After wrapping up a few cases, I took some time off to spend time with my mom visiting from France but now I'm back in full work mode! Here is how my ER background has tremendously helped me in reviewing personal injury cases. As a nurse working in the fast-paced environment of the ER, I've honed my skills in critical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication. Now, as a Legal Nurse Consultant, I'm able to leverage these skills when reviewing personal injury cases. Here is how: 1️⃣ Medical Expertise: With years of hands-on experience in the ER, I have a deep understanding of trauma, injuries, and medical documentation. This knowledge allows me to review medical records comprehensively, identifying crucial details to strengthen cases. 2️⃣ Thorough Case Analysis: In the ER, every minute counts. Translating this urgency, I conduct thorough case analyses, leaving no stone unturned. My goal is to provide comprehensive understanding of the medical aspects of client's injuries. 3️⃣ Effective Communication: Communication is key in any emergency situation. I bring this skill to the legal field, ensuring that complex medical information is communicated clearly and concisely. This facilitates seamless collaboration. 4️⃣ Client Advocacy: Working in the ER has instilled in me a strong sense of advocacy for patients. As a Legal Nurse Consultant, I extend this commitment.
