Hearing a deep need reported in conversations with friends and colleagues, a group of close coaches and I have felt compelled to take action. With this in mind we invite you to take a look at our offering below and share with anyone who might find this valuable. Listening Spaces for Complex Times In a time of what feels to be accelerating polarisation, we are offering a space for pause, self-reflection and connection. We know the power of hearing ourselves and others speak out loud, of listening and of being heard, of reflecting and hearing other people’s reflections. And we see how rare it is, right now, to find spaces in which that is possible. With this deeply in our minds and hearts, we will be offering a series of small online group sessions for up to 8 people at a time. The sessions will be mindfully held, respectful spaces in which to share, listen and be heard whilst sitting in community. Each session will offer a safe structure in which all participants will have equal opportunity to be heard or be witnessed in silence or in whatever way they need to express themselves. You don’t need to identify nationally, religiously or politically in any way. There is no specific agenda other than to allow people to be and give voice to how they are and what is present for them. The sessions are NOT a conversation or debate; they are not a forum to persuade, perform, shame or solve. No cross-talking will occur as this space is designed to allow for self-expression and emotional sharing rather than agenda or intended outcome. Anything that could be considered hate speech or political or religious agenda is NOT welcome in this space and will result in removal to maintain the safety of this space. We are a group of Organization and Relationship Systems Coaches (ORSC) supporting our broader community during these incredibly challenging times. We intend to meet demand, as such, sessions may increase or decrease in regularity. Initially, we are offering a few spaces per week at different times. As this is a free offering, we ask you not to sign up for more than one session per week for now. Upon my perusal of the tweet authored by Jaydev Unadkat, I found myself becoming an admirer of his eloquent expression and the sentiments conveyed therein. What struck me as praiseworthy was his firm resolve to shed light on the veracity of the entertainment industry. Jaydev sternly asserts that certain elements of this industry tend to glorify events and occurrences that are entirely fictitious or nonexistent. Living in a civilized society, it is incumbent upon us to recognize our role as social beings, as opposed to mere animals. In this capacity, we are faced with numerous social obligations towards our community. Foremost among these responsibilities is the preservation of the true essence of storytelling, unburdened by the artificial embellishments aimed solely at inflating the ratings and popularity of a performance. It is crucial to acknowledge that the consequences of our actions in this sphere can lead impressionable minds astray, steering them towards a path of negativity. Therefore, as actors, our primary duty should lie in serving our viewers with narratives that impart constructive messages, aiding in the creation of a harmonious society wherein individuals can coexist peacefully, along with fulfilling their responsibilities as social beings.
