Robots from around the world are sharing data on object manipulation to help work towards a general-purpose robotic brain. The labs at Google and the University of California, Berkeley joined up with 32 other robotics laboratories across North America, Europe and Asia as part of the RT-X project. The shared goal is to make general-purpose robots a reality, as well as assembling data, resources and code. 5moThat is absolutely true, we have paved entire continents, put signs to stop and start, and traffic lights to control when pedestrians or cars cross. All these systems have been designed to efficiently make people operate in the city environment. There is not a single reason that we should avoid to modify the environment in a similar capacity and magnitude such that robots are efficient and safe to operate.
