‘Ruby Slippers’ Oakleaf Hydrangea (𝘏𝘺𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘢 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘢) is a cultivated variety of the southeastern US native Oakleaf Hydrangea. This specimen is compact with extra large, upright flower inflorescences. Growing to 3-4’ tall by 3-5’ wide, pruning is rarely necessary, but is best done just after blooming if desired. Blooms occur on old wood. The deeply lobed, oak-like leaves turn from dark green to a brilliant wine red in the fall before being shed.
