"That's a lot of water to move around," she said. "That's not trivial." A tremendous thank you to Laura Capper who has been providing the data behind this story. The management of produced water (treatment, storage, and logistics) is a complex and evolving beast. No one operator or midstream entity can do this alone, and as an industry we need to keep working together to find alternative homes for these large volumes of water. Direct reuse is helping but we're still producing a massive excess of #producedwater that can't keep going into the subsurface. The technologies exist to support beneficial reuse (use of treated produced water outside of the oilfield) but we don't have the regulatory framework to support this new paradigm, at least not in the Delaware and Midland Basins. 🌟 Exciting Week of Engagement with the Bureau of Reclamation! 🌟 This week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) facilities for the Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming region. Here is a photo from my visit to the Boysen Dam Powerhouse in Wyoming, part of the BOR’s Missouri Basin Region. Engaging directly with our customers is crucial for understanding their needs and ensuring the success of our projects. The BOR is one of our most important clients in the U.S., and I have been fortunate to support and contribute to several key projects awarded to ANDRITZ. These include: 🏆 Canyon Ferry: Contributing to the generator rewind project RFP. 🏆 Mount Elbert: Leading and coordinating the complete proposal for the RFP service. 🏆 Anderson Ranch Turbine Overhaul: Leading and coordinating the complete proposal of our first turbine work with BOR in over a decade. During the site visit, we discussed the main issues foreseen by the customer. It is important to mention the significance of detailed technical and commercial engagement before the release of an RFP. This pre-bid phase is essential for defining technical specifications, collecting necessary data, and understanding commercial conditions to ensure mutual collaboration and align expectations from both sides, resulting in a successful project award and collaboration. Special thanks to all the team from BOR for their valuable insights and cooperation. The powerhouse is well-maintained, and I look forward to continuing our collaboration to meet the high standards set by BOR.
