APTIM—along with our teaming partner, Geosyntec Consultants—recently won the Carpenter Snow Creek Mining District (CSCMD) Operable Unit 1 (OU1) Superfund project for the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 8! APTIM will implement remediation of OU1 under the direction of the US Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District. The CSCMD site, located near Neihart, Montana, encompasses approximately 9,000 acres with mine tailings, waste rock, and acid mine drainage present throughout as a result of many inactive and abandoned mines. Work will focus on remediation of parcels (i.e., residential, commercial, and public properties), roadway segments, and mine tailings, along with infrastructure improvements such as onsite repository construction and stormwater controls. We appreciate this contract award and look forward to continuing to provide services for our longtime clients, #USACE and the #EPA!
