As I am on my way to Barcelona for AutoSens, this article by indie Semiconductor's Chet Babla "How ADAS Sensing Is Evolving to Deliver Safer Vehicle Automation" was a great reminder of the criticality of sensing for ADAS. Chet nicely summarizes the complexities of sensor modalities as well as various sensing system architectures. "Road crash fatalities are an unacceptable but distressing reality of modern society. Notably, the U.S. has higher road fatality rates than many other Western countries. Sadly, many of these accidents are avoidable, with the Financial Times recently pointing to several potential contributing factors that appear more prevalent with U.S. drivers than other nations, specifically distracted driving through phone use, not wearing seat belts, breaking the speed limit and being under the influence while driving." #Synopsys #Automotive https://bit.ly/3ZX1YH4
