Yesterday, Pocketknife Group had the privilege of attending the sold-out Australian Institute of Health & Safety Symposium at the stunning Ritz Carlton in Perth. With nearly 260 health and safety professionals from diverse industry sectors in attendance, it was an inspiring day of learning, networking, and discussing innovative solutions for the future of health and safety. The program supported PKG’s expertise, particularly in leadership, data, and critical risk management. We were interested in Dr. Marcus Cattani’s session on The Safety BMI, which our key takeaway was the emphasis on the need to improve the quality of incident and injury data if we want to obtain meaningful insights; something we are actively supporting clients to achieve in our consulting work. The highlight for PKG was the conversation led by Dr. Maureen Hassall and Dr. Bobbie Selleck on critical risk management, an area where PKG has a strong track record of delivering innovative and impactful solutions. During the offstage networking opportunities, it was clear that health and safety leaders are eager to explore how data, technology, and innovation can transform their strategies. While the conference program itself had limited focus on Industry 4.0 and the future of work, PKG Director Cam Stevens was kept busy fielding questions on practical safety innovation, reflecting the growing appetite for human-centered, creative problem-solving. It’s exciting to see the WA safety profession’s enthusiasm for embracing fresh approaches and validating PKG’s bespoke solutions. We’re proud to be making a difference in this evolving space! 🚀 #SafetyTech #SafetyInnovation #CriticalRiskManagement

Focus Network, in partnership with Avetta Australia, held another fantastic event in #Perth, yesterday. We had a very lively and informative discussion over lunch with some of Western Australia’s leading health and safety leaders. We shared Focus Network research insights, which highlighted many of the issues facing health and safety leaders. The focus of our discussion was on using technology to manage compliance and risk, across supply chains. Embracing technology is now critical for health and safety leaders and is essential for contractor management processes. Some of the issues discussed were: -The sheer complexity of ensuring compliance, sometimes across different countries, among contractors and subcontractors. -Best practices around standardising and simplifying contractor management processes. -Improving contractor compliance, driving greater collaboration and using ‘best of breed’ technology to ensure health and safety compliance. ✔️We always put people first in Polish Air Navigation Services Agency ✔️We treat errors, if they happen, as symptoms rather than causes. ✔️We understand each other's work and treat others as peers. 👉 Our safety vision is based on the following principles: ➡️ kindness and empathy, ➡️tolerance, ➡️trust, ➡️wisdom, ➡️honesty ➡️ humility 🤝 Congratulations Adam Machnicki and a the team of experts from PANSA's strategic operational areas for preparing the organisation's safety vision. Great job! 🔝 🟢 You can read more on our corporate profile below. ⤵️ #PANSA #PAŻP #ATM #SAFETY
👉PANSA experts from sharp-end areas of the organisation's activities (ATCO, FISO, ATSEP, operational support) met at a special workshop (16-17 January 2025) in Kraków to prepare a safety vision for the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency. 👉The meeting was an opportunity to have a discussion with world experts in safety management - Sidney Dekker and Robert J. de Boer - on the specifics of daily operational work, the differences between work-as-imagined and work-as-done, as well as other key scientific concepts in safety management applied in organisations. The result is a draft of PANSA safety vision, which will be discussed with PANSA management and implemented with the intention of improving safety management effectiveness across the organisation. 🔝 🤝 ‼️Our safety vision is based on the following principles: kindness and empathy, tolerance, trust, wisdom, honesty and humility. We always put people first and treat errors, if they happen, as symptoms rather than causes. We understand each other's work and treat others as peers ‼️ ✔️Eksperci PAŻP z kluczowych obszarów działalności organizacji (KRL, FISO, ATSEP, wsparcie operacyjne) spotkali się na specjalnych warsztatach (16-17 stycznia br.) w Krakowie, aby przygotować wizję bezpieczeństwa Polskiej Agencji Żeglugi Powietrznej.
