Indigenous peoples make up 5% of the worlds population and 80% of the worlds remaining biodiversity is in their territories.

The Bundeskartellamt recently published a sector inquiry “Domestic waste collection - hollow glass processing” (link in first comment). 4️⃣8️⃣ % of German municipalities manage their own waste disposal. In our paper “Reverse privatization as a reaction to the competitive environment: Evidence from solid waste collection in Germany”, we analyzed the factors driving the inhouse provision in this sector. One important of them being local market concentration.
