It is not compulsory for hotels or premises selling food to acquire the halal certification but we are prohibited from using phrases such as Ramadan buffet, iftar Ramadan, jom iftar, ditanggung halal and dijamin halal when promoting our buffets in pamphlets or on posters, banners and social media......if we are not halal certified. Over the years I have also noticed that most of the high end branded hotels in Malaysia don't have the halal certification and have always wondered why they don't make the effort to obtain one. In many tourists towns with 100s of hotels, the percentage of halal certified hotels are less than 20% but when it comes to the Buka Puasa promotions, everyone will be full house.........pelik, tapi benar.

Trade and Business Consultant at German Philippine Chamber and Hospitality Management and NGO/Charity Management + M. Sc. Psychologist
One of the biggest challenges for the hospitality sector is to find the right supply that works for you. While the Tourism Market is drastically growing in the Philippines, the infrastructure behind it often is slow. It took my wife and I many years to figure out and find the right suppliers, from Salad to Cutlery, and honestly many things we just did ourselves in the end. I am glad that there are some established and new firms from the Philippines like Harle (Filipino-German joint venture) that we can rely on for things we can't do in-house. From a Chamber perspective: There is still room for more FDI in the local market to create jobs and provide service. That the need for sustainable Innovation is here and now.
GPCCI visited our Member HARLE PHILIPPINES, INC. at last week's Hotel & Foodservice Suppliers Show in Manila. For over 20 years Härle has serviced the Hotel Industry in the Philippines. If you ever stayed in a Hotel in the Philippines the chances are high that Härle supplied that Hotel with their wide range of equipment. Furthermore, Härle is supporting this year’s GPPCI's German Ambassador's Cup on 15 November 2024.

"Where do you see yourself in 5 years" is a question many of us constantly ask ourselves. Five years ago, I was working for ARAMCO and used all my savings to open TAKARA. Unfortunately, shortly after opening, COVID hit and forced us to close down. I vividly remember the words of one of our waiters, who is now one of our fearless leaders, on the day we reopened to the public. He said, "Boss, the worst is behind us. Now we will turn this place into the best restaurant in Saudi Arabia." It took TAKARA a lot of passion and hospitality to achieve just that. Today, we were honored with one of the most prestigious hospitality awards worldwide, "Best Restaurant in Saudi Arabia," by The #worldculinaryawards2024! We are accepting this recognition with humbleness and understanding of the responsibility it represents. Being "the Best" in something means that you need to always be at the top of your game, but also it means that you need to continuously challenge yourself and your team to improve and become "even better”. If there is one thing I have learned from the hospitality industry, it is that the competition is intense and everyone is always improving – and you should, too. Today, we celebrate, but from tomorrow, we have 364 days ahead to prove that we are still the best. Who knows, maybe next time we'll be among "the Best in the World." #saudivision2030 #saudimade #saudiarabia #sauditourism #saudiprojects #saudibusiness #AmbitionandProsperity #ministryofculture #ministryoftourism #takarahospitalitygroup #gea #

Howdy’s Sports Bar & Restaurant opened on Thursday, 5 September 2024, at 6:30 PM! With a Wild West theme, the night started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan’s Hotel Manager, Mr. Christopher Kramer, and special guest Mr. Amro Nagah. The evening featured live music and a Best Dressed contest for both men and women. To celebrate, Howdy’s is offering a 50% discount on the total bill throughout the opening week! The event was a huge success, and Mr. Kramer expressed his gratitude to the entire team for working as "one." He was truly happy with the team spirit, support from all departments, and the smiles and enthusiasm that helped create unforgettable memories! #success #nowopen #restaurant #newindubai #dubai #offer #limitedoffer #wildwest #cowboy #food #dubairestaurant #greatdeal #offer #HospitalityExcellence #CelebratingSuccess #HospitalityLeaders #CustomerExperience #MovenpickMoments #BestDressedContest #DubaiDining #OpeningWeekDiscount #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork #LiveMusicNights #RestaurantLaunch #HowdyDubai #HospitalityExcellence #WildWestVibes #GrandOpening #hospitality #hotel #dxb

Executive Director at Codegen Technologies Sdn Bhd (All views expressed are entirely mine, except those I copied).
The new economic equation - and not a trivial one The cost of mining one bitcoin is over USD40,000 Mr Peter Tan... With April 2024 round of halvening, bitcoin has reduced the reward of mining to 3.125%... No more bitcoins will be created after 21 million (or slightly less than that due to some arithmetic barrier)... There are about 20 million now created... While bitcoin serves as a storage of value (think of say the Egyptian Pound which is falling by half its value against the USD every 6 months and their government disallows any movement of its currency across its borders confounding hedging attempts), bitcoin doesn't have any intrinsic value except for its cyclical dependency ie it has value to me because you think it has value and you think it has value because I think it has value. Despite that, real fortunes have been made and lost on bitcoin. A couple of days ago, the value of Ethereum had been gradually decreasing as it is anticipated that the authorities will not approve the first few Ethereum based ETFs to be listed, including Ark's. Yesterday, an "authoritative" person tweeted flipping the probability numbers upside down to "likely" instead of "unlikely" That's not an approval - that's just an opinion of likelihood. And what's the maximum length of a tweet? 160+ characters? Ethereum rose 18% Then dove... Blackrock is one of those who have successfully launched a bitcoin based ETF So if you want to grow a trillion dollar fund fast and you have the financial muscle with the fund management skills of a financial Yoda - you can try it too Once you've made enough money, you may wish to snap up lucrative infrastructure projects around the world - and apply your expertise to turn around those that need your global synergy network to orchestrate a web of real value creation What's an ETF? it's a sort of unit trust over a bag of investments but the unit trust can be traded on a stock exchange Bitcoin cannot directly be listed on any stock exchange This is circumvented by bagging investments in bitcoin into a fund and shares in that fund is listed on the stock exchange Bitcoin obtained that approval just a few months ago As an easy comparison, it's like ASN units being listed on Bursa and the unit trust invests in cryptos So if an investor don't know or don't have time to watch the graph or follow the developments, just buy the ETFs from the stockmarket (for better or worse) It's a new - and surreal - economic equation. It is complex with many moving parts and many blindsides too. But it is real - for now...
So that's what they did to Elements Mall in Melaka, the one next to Doubletree Hilton.......😅
