The German ownership group SSE22, led by figures like Jan Peters and Ole Jan Kappmeier, has taken the reins at Danish football club AaB A/S with a clear, long-term strategy centered on nurturing young, home-grown talent. Rather than chasing quick results, they are investing in the club's academy and ensuring a seamless transition for youth players into the senior team. Their approach, rooted in patience and a commitment to local development, is a refreshing contrast to the short-term thinking often seen in football. 1. What sets SSE22's approach at AaB apart from other football clubs? SSE22 focuses on developing young, local talent and integrating them into the first team, even if it takes years. They believe in a long-term strategy rather than prioritizing immediate match results. 2. How does SSE22 handle the transition of young players to the senior team? SSE22 emphasizes additional, individualized training for young players as they move up to the senior squad, understanding that most are not immediately ready to make an impact. This approach challenges the common practice of loaning out or releasing players who don’t succeed right away. 3. Why is SSE22's commitment to local talent significant for AaB's future? By focusing on local talent, SSE22 is not only nurturing future first-team players but also ensuring the club’s financial sustainability. This strategy aims to build a strong foundation for long-term success, both on and off the pitch. #SportsBusiness #Football #SportsBiz #Finance #People #Data #Management #Intelligence

This weekend is the kickoff of the English #PremierLeague’s new season. For me personally, this is my favorite competition and I beleive its quality tops that of the World Cup or Euro Cup. Although those international tournaments are more engaging and globally popular, but often suffer from the limited time for real preparation and integration. In contrast, the Premier League is a long-term strategic journey. With some of the best coaches and players globally, every match is a thrilling display of high-level tactics, execution, and engagement right up to its last minute, and over the entire season Legendary managers like Sir Alex Ferguson, Pep Guardiola, Jürgen Klopp, and Arsène Wenger have transcended football to become icons in leadership, strategy, and innovation. Their influence is now a staple in any workshop, exercise, or course focused on these themes. Premier League clubs have also evolved into significant investment vehicles, attracting club owners ranging from business tycoons and royalties, to private equity firms and sovereign wealth funds. However, a rising debate questions whether all the above is transforming #football into a game that is too tactical, spoiling the joy and the individual talent of players, and whether the increasing financial flow is eroding fair competition. What are your thoughts on this debate? NB: for those wondering to whom my support goes —I say “Victoria Concordia Crescit.”

⏩️ Key Takeaways from Our Journey at AaB A/S ⏪️ In the past year, our team at #SSE22 has joined AaB A/S, a historic Danish football club, by focusing on sustainable growth through youth development. Here are three key insights from our approach: 1. #PatienceIsKey: Building a competitive team through home-grown talent is a long-term process. We believe in giving young players the time and intensive training they need to transition successfully to senior football, rather than expecting immediate results. 2. #StrategicDiscipline: Success in football is not just about winning the next match; it’s about making decisions today that will pay off in the future. Our focus remains on developing local talent and ensuring that every move we make aligns with our long-term vision. 3. #IntegratedApproach: We’ve restructured our operations to ensure that our academy and first-team staff work hand in hand. This holistic approach is crucial for nurturing talent and laying a strong foundation for both the team’s performance and the club’s financial health. Thank you Off The Pitch and Kasper Kronenberg for the good chat with Ole Jan Kappmeier and myself. #Football #Strategy #YouthDevelopment #SSE22 #AaB

https://lnkd.in/et5rmQdU By any standard that was an exceptionally incompetent performance by Scotland at the Euros and in particular, by a mgr. who is way out of his depth. The reality is the Association are operating on an amateur basis & are always posted missing & unaccountable when it all goes pear-shaped. Why? They wouldn't have the ability or know-how to explain what went wrong nor do they have the knowledge to set up, or set a path to, a realistic ambition. Slovenia is a great comparison on how to successfully negotiate a group & they don't have anywhere near the resources of Scottish clubs/MGMT. Unfortunately, once Scotland qualify (the current hidden ambition) then complacency sets in quickly from MGMT to Association & it all begins to fall apart. Professionalism goes out the window & all & sundry flee from responsibility. The evidence is clearly on the table as the team who actually qualified were way more robust than the one that played in Germany with a very limited game plan. The entire tournament goes down as an embarrassment, however, it is not the first time - in fact, it happens every time. From 1978 where Scotland were a team run on big ego & an inferiority complex right up to now - the difference being the '78 players had enough about them to beat the finalists. As it stands currently if Scotland needed a point from anyone to get out a group they wouldn't get it. The current crop of players are left adrift & brittle by poor MGMT from all of those above. A team that can't defend, score or register a threat is utterly bankrupt in football terms. A lot needs changed before Scotland reach an understanding & maturity of performance sufficient to find progression. FED is open for club investment & direction strategies: 1.
