ChatGPT 4 recognized | Google: Top Global Patient Blood Management Influencer | Top Global Anemia Influencer | Documentary Producer | Global Chief Creative Officer |
There is nothing wrong with a woman’s hearing when it comes to anemia. They hear it loud and clear when they’re told, ‘It’s in your head,’ or ‘Everything is fine.’ It’s time for anemia awareness to be amplified. This increased volume must first come from the very healthcare providers responsible for women’s health. If #anemia awareness is not prioritized on their side of the fence, we can’t expect to truly meet the needs of #women dealing with the many symptoms of iron deficiency. Our initiative is a simple amplifier for this critical women's health issue. By bringing consistent global attention through our Anemia symbol, we believe that when it is partnered with hospital programs, medical centers, and pharmaceutical companies, it will symbolize commitment, loyalty, and trust. Let's work together so that no woman will have to deal with the stigmas of the past, while creating a new culture of anemia awareness and strengthening the engagement between women and healthcare providers.

Do you know that significant health disparities exist between groups of women based on race, income, location, and other factors? The rural and minority women often face greater barriers to care, like a lack of local clinics and costs. Furthermore, lower access translates to poorer health outcomes for cancers, heart disease, and other serious conditions. That's why addressing these inequalities is important - both for ethical reasons but also economic, as preventable illness and early deaths reduce productivity. According to a survey conducted by Roche Diagnostics APAC across eight countries, 1 in 3 married women in low-income countries do not have control over major household spending decisions. Husbands and family members can restrict a woman from seeking appropriate care, delaying diagnosis and treatment. Effective screening programs across the region could create a monumental shift in reducing the burden on health systems, with labs serving as the first line of defence in clinical settings. The zolpidem issue highlights a bigger problem: our approach to women's health. It's not just about medication dosages; it's about the lack of sex-specific data collection. Imagine the breakthroughs if we actually focused on these differences! Our healthcare system's blindness to female-specific needs is staggering, and it goes beyond health. Want to understand more? I highly recommend Caroline Criado Perez's book, "Invisible Women. https://lnkd.in/eSyxfeyv

The 2024 Roche Diagnostics APAC Women's Health Survey showed that women all over the region do not prioritise preventative healthcare. Given that 2 in 5 women have never had and do not intend to go for cervical screening, it is clear that more needs to be done to change this. With the aim of destigmatising cervical screening and encouraging women to take autonomy of their own health, five markets in the Roche Diagnostics APAC region will be launching Women’s Checkup Week. Now, especially with Mother’s Day this Sunday, let's celebrate the gift of good health by spreading awareness about the importance of cervical screenings. #MakeTheMostImportantDate #EmpowerHerHealth #WomensCheckupWeek #TogetherForChange
