At the recent Programmatic Summit 2024, our Head of Marketing Nicole Hunter, alongside Joel Trethowan, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Alchemy One (B Corp) and Joanna Georges, Head of ANZ, Scope3, delved into the critical intersection of digital advertising and environmental impact. 🌏📱 The numbers are staggering: every 1,000 digital impressions in a campaign equate to one load of washing in terms of carbon emissions. 🫧 With our industry generating billions of impressions monthly, the scale of this challenge is undeniable. But here’s the good news: we can have agency over our media investments. While we can’t control the electricity grid, we can certainly influence where our advertising dollars flow. By prioritising low-carbon, high-attention, and quality inventory, we can drive meaningful change. Collaborating with Alchemy One and Scope3, we embarked on a journey to reduce our programmatic carbon footprint.
