This picture of the Boardmaster festival is all over the News worldwide, the festival is over and all of these tents are left behind. But it seems a bit like the media has misunderstood the responsibility of the organizers and the partners, blaming the festival goers. But who is actually responsible for this? My tip to CEMAsys.com clients, partners and followers; before your company partner up with a festival or event set clear expectations on sustainable practices, and take responsibility outside of your operational control: https://lnkd.in/ddQVA-Sh

Very informative document
📣 On this important day, as our new board take it's place, we are launching the much anticipated document, "Safer Crowds, Safer Venues Good Practice for Crowd Management in UK Performance and Licensed Spaces" A true labour of love behind the scenes, we have successfully gathered over 50 industry authors, editors and collaborators from across the spectrum of Crowd Management professionals to work voluntarily to produce the draft. A big thank you to everybody who contributed their time, effort and expertise to make this project possible. 🙌 Together with Night Time Industries Association NTIA and LIVE (Live music Industry Venues and Entertainment), we are proud to present this document to the community free of charge. In recent years there have been several high-profile incidents which have resulted in loss of life or serious injury due to failings with operational crowd management. The purpose of this supporting document is to provide venue operators, organisers and their stakeholders with a general outline of what currently constitutes accepted good practice in terms of crowd management for performance spaces and licensed venues in the United Kingdom. The chapters suggest a framework for the safety, security and optimal experience of attendees in indoor spaces that are smaller than arenas. Download your copy here👉 https://lnkd.in/eYiE3VZT Please help distribute this groundbreaking work by sharing this link as far and wide as possible. #safercrowdssafervenues #safer #crowds #venues #crowdmanagement #strongertogether #educate #advocate #motivate

🤫 Why Van Halen Said Absolutely NO Brown M&Ms...👇 Hint: this wasn't about candy preferences; it was a brilliant test. Here's the story: Van Halen's concert contract had an odd clause - "Absolutely No Brown M&Ms." ⚠️ Their massive concerts had A LOT of moving parts and they needed to ensure safety! So they used this unusual test for attention to detail! It's essential, especially when the stakes are high. They needed to ensure venues followed their complex setup requirements. 🤦♂️If they found a brown M&M, they knew the venue didn't read the contract, which risked technical errors or even life-threatening issues. Insight: Attention to detail matters, use unusual tests/methods, check compliance for complex requirements, and always prioritize safety and quality. Have you heard of this story before?

Welcome to the Working With Crowds We are a resource website focusing on Crowd Management, safety and security.
It is not often that guidance comes along. In this case it has never been more relevant. Aimed at those events and crowded places that we tried to shoehorn in those bigger pieces such as the Green and Purple Guide. Written to be easily adopted by all and understood. If you are in the live events industry, then this is for you. #crowdsafety

Chapter 13 provides a very high level summary of what should be considered by organisers/promoters of events in smaller indoor venues (up to 5k capacity) when determining the event healthcare needs of their anticipated audience.

Not sure what more there is that hasn't already been said? - timely and needed good practice guide for venues (up to 5000) - mainly centred on crowd management, but touches on a host of other factors - written (and edited) by some outstanding individuals - starting to fill an identified gap - too indoorsy for the Purple guide, not sporty enough for the Green guide, not technical enough for the Yellow. Will this evolve to become the Blue guide?? 🤞

A second PR coup by Manchester's AO Arena in a day, with Take That also shifting their tour to the 30-year old venue following the ongoing crisis at the city's new Co-op Live arena. If the PR and marketing team aren't flooding channels with 'AO Arena - We're entertaining you/Open for business' messaging or similar, then they should get on it. Yes, the actions of bands moving to them says a lot, but as people questioned the city's ability to have two arenas, I'd definitely turn the screws and make sure people in the region - and the music industry - perceive the established city centre as reliable and *the* place for big music. And what of the Co-op Live's handling of the communications around the ongoing crisis? What do others think?
