“Alea Iacta Est”: A Precarious Step for Netanyahu and Israel In a move reminiscent of Julius Caesar’s audacious crossing of the Rubicon, Benjamin Netanyahu stands at a pivotal juncture. His potential decision to deploy Israeli forces into Rafa not only defies global consensus but also marks a critical point of no return. Should Netanyahu proceed with such a strategy, I foresee this as the initial phase in a series of events leading to Israel’s undoing. His actions bear the weight of historical consequence; yet, it’s clear—he is no Caesar. In underestimating the gravity of world opinion and the complex dynamics of regional stability, Netanyahu risks isolating Israel on the global stage. This isn’t just about military strategy; it’s about the foresight to understand the broader implications of such decisions. “Alea iacta est,” indeed, but at what cost?

Second Lunchtime Flashback: Daily World War News from the Past 🌍 World War I History: On October 24, two major events occurred on the Austro-Italian front during the Great War: 1917 – Italy suffered a disastrous defeat at the Battle of Caporetto. Austro-Hungarian and German forces launched a surprise offensive, breaking through Italian lines and causing a large-scale retreat. The defeat led to heavy casualties, the loss of territory, and a crisis within the Italian military. 1918 – One year later, Italy achieved a decisive victory at the Battle of Vittorio Veneto, marking a turning point on the Italian front. This battle resulted in the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Army, leading to the end of the war on the Italian front and contributing to the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. ⚔️🌐 #WWIHistory #BattleOfCaporetto #BattleOfVittorioVeneto #ItalianFront #AustroHungarianEmpire #WorldWarI #MilitaryHistory HaJunk - Business Development

The Just War: Reflecting on Churchill's view of World War II, the 'aiming way' concept focuses on the strategic direction and efforts of the Allies. The main actor, often referred to as the 'U.S. rider,' played a crucial role in guiding and executing these strategies. Hemingway's perspective on departure highlights the courage and resilience required during these pivotal moments. On the other side, Rommel's tactical genius posed significant challenges. The bravery of Commando Kieffer and the French forces, ready to die for their cause, exemplifies the extraordinary heroism of the time. The French Resistance played a vital role in undermining enemy efforts from within. Additionally, the leadership of future President of France, President de Gaulle, in London provided crucial direction and inspiration to the Free French Forces. Key operations like ARC, Asphalt, AHRQ HOC, Utah Landing, and the role of Gold Beach underscore the complex and multifaceted nature of the conflict. The significant involvement of Canadian forces further illustrates the collaborative effort. America's leadership and partnership with other nations were pivotal in navigating these complexities. #Leadership #History #WWII"

Interesting report & great that it included Star Trek quotes, but probably not, "It unites humanity in a way no one ever thought possible...Poverty, disease, war. They'll all be gone within the next 50 years." So as we contrast this report with a translated 'Space: Exploring Russia, China & NATO Opposing Nations' Final Frontier,' we have to ask ourselves how likely is it our species will survive a real nuclear WWIII (that occurs in ST: First Contact)? Remember history- Eisenhower in 1949 warned that if NATO was still around in ten years, it had failed to produce peace and that in the 1990s a Partnership for Peace plan would have added Russia to NATO, this was scuttled later when Sec. of State Baker's promises to Gorbachev that NATO would not expand East turned out to be false. Both the West & Russia/PRC, etc are to blame for continuing the path toward a space-based and Earth-based nuclear conflict. While our species contends in near-Earth space, it would be ironic if we continue to downplay & underinvest in deep space surveillance until the day we shockingly discover an ecosystem destroying impactor, hard to spot near our sun, is a few days or weeks away from striking Earth. D-Day: June 6, 1944. 80 years ago to this day... As the Royal British Legion explains: "Unprecedented coordination between Allied nations, and the intensive planning of engineers, meteorologists, logisticians and countless more, led to a force from 13 countries approaching Normandy in a 5,000-vessel armada. "In the early hours of D-Day, 24,000 paratroopers and glider-borne troops landed behind German lines to provide tactical support. Massive naval and aerial bombardments attempted to suppress the German defences and weaponry. Then a ground force of more than 130,000 troops came ashore on five beaches across a 50-mile stretch of Normandy coast, with the first waves often facing intact defences. By the end of D-Day there had been 10,000 allied casualties. Yet this was only the beginning..." The bravery The fear The endurance, and The sacrifices They all remain a testament to the enduring fight for freedom and democracy. We must never forget. We will never forget. Mr. Crummay; thanks for posting, but I see so much more of the story in the picture...I see the craftmanship and precision metal fabrication which has become a lost art in the modern day. Study the picture closely and you can see multiple fabrication methods and techniques that were employed during WWII to build these high performance machines. The rivet spacing, the gusset frame support members, the wheeled radius components... all individual pieces of aluminum riveted together to form a single structural frame. In this current world of digital, software driven additive manufacturing and Gigaton Injection Molded components, the real hero's are those who made these components and assembled them by hand. Cheers mate,
Every picture tells a story… Project Spitfire AA810 Restoration Ltd was fortunate to be championed in Parliament yesterday- this photograph today is a stark reminder just how important it is to honour those whose wartime sacrifice in the Royal Air Force has gone largely unproved and unappreciated until now, when not only will Sandy’s Great Escape Spitfire fly again, but all those who served in photo reconnaissance, the grandparent of modern day ISR, will be honoured by a national monument. Note the iconic PRU blue paint featuring peat and soil from the crash site in Norway. Blue skies all

Very much looking forward to hosting retired General Professor Adam Findlay AO this Thursday at Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art in #Brisbane as part of Griffith Asia Institute's Perspectives: Asia lecture series. Adam will share his views on Australia's' “2024 National Defence Strategy”. Released in April 2024, the National Defence Strategy assesses that Australia is facing 'its most challenging strategic period since the Second World War'. The primary feature being the increasing strategic competition between the #USA and #China and an unprecedented military build-up in the Indo-#Pacific Region. The NDS claims to provide a 'new approach' to the defence of Australia to meet 'the most consequential security risks we face' through the application of a Strategy of Denial. Is this new strategy capable of defending Australia and its interests in our rapidly deteriorating geo-strategic environment? There is still time to register here: https://lnkd.in/gSCFyy8v

Upon reflection, Olympics Paris 2024 opening was a foreshadowing, in my opinion. Torch bearer was a nod to 2 things: 1) parkour, or free-running was invented in Paris by the French Military. Do research 2) he was dressed similarly to an Assassin of Assassin's Creed So does this mean E-sports and parkour are on the horizon of future International Olympic Committee – IOC ? #roadtoparis2024 #FightDementiaFullOut #AllStylesKenpachi #RoadToBrisbane2032 #ESportOlympics2032 #ParkourOlympics2032 #BreakdanceOlympics2032 #BFreeGlobal
