On June 10, 2024, we celebrated 86 brilliant advisors completing their Get on Board program. Out of 106 participants in our first, second, third, and fourth cohorts of the Get on Board program, we are proud to report that 60% are now sitting on boards. #Private Sector Engagement Strong and effective collaboration between businesses, the public sector, and civil society groups are fundamental to successful private sector engagements, and we understand the importance of collaboration and participation to create win-win outcomes. Engaging all parties in a participatory, collaborative manner that works towards everyone’s goals and objectives is especially important in private sector engagement programs. One key element to successful collaboration is to understand and respect the perspectives and roles of each key stakeholder group and actively foster communication among those groups. It is important to assess early on and throughout the engagement what those roles are and how they fit together. _______________ # IFC - International Finance Corporation East Africa Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) AVCA - The African Private Capital Association Somali Business Support Network (SBSN) Business Sweden Middle East and Africa East Africa Business Journal UNIDO Somali Resilience Program (SomReP) African Union The World Bank

🇺🇳 One of the more powerful findings of the 2024 Financing for Sustainable Development report was that the median debt service burden for #LDCs rose from 3.1% of revenue in 2010 to 12% in 2023. ➡️ UNCDF can play a unique role in confronting this powerful challenge by bringing a “capacity to operate in high-market conditions, without the constraints of credit ratings,” as UNDP Administrator Steiner acknowledged. https://lnkd.in/gbi6Nawn

Saudi expert and Atlantic Council Middle East Initiatives Senior Fellow Hanaa Almoaibed, PhD highlights the sea change in the Kingdom when it comes to women in the workplace: "More than one million commercial registrations are owned by women—representing 45 percent of registered companies—and women held 43.7 percent of leadership roles." She also points out that without more programs to ensure Saudi women have financial literacy, these gains won't necessarily benefit the most vulnerable members of society or double-tap on the great progress we are seeing in terms of women's economic empowerment. With the right information, women are great at investing and managing household spending. In fact, women tend to pay off debts at slightly higher rates than men and re-invest earnings in their families and communities. More women with financial literacy = better outcomes for everyone! https://lnkd.in/eGZp39Ar
