Sand Dwellings created with Binder Jetting https://lnkd.in/dUf3Nx4K syntharc.com In this concept, we have envisioned a residential structure built with the binder jetting system. #binderjetting is an additive manufacturing process in which an industrial printhead selectively deposits a liquid binding agent onto a thin layer of powder particles; which is the local sand material in this example. We believe this is a viable construction theory which can be useful also for basic shelter units for interplanetary missions. “Sustainable growth is closely linked to structural planning, with communication between the internal and the external being one of the main challenges. True design reveals the genuine content of this construction, avoiding superficial disguises and demonstrating that less is more.” Rafael Serradura, 2024 . The collection of works I share is based on abstract and decentralised thinking, transitioning from the intangible to the materialised in algorithmic realism, where its metadata transcends from the metaverse to physical expressiveness. Having experienced the algorithmic world in its theoretical essence applied in the corporate market, I am embarking on a new phase, applying this science in Digital Art and expanding the idea of "Being Disruptive." Initially, I create the artworks with Roman marble busts, which are significant elements both in the artistic movement and in Roman history. They represent a combination of cultural and stylistic influences from different periods and regions. But why did I choose marble as the foundation for all the arts? Marble is a metamorphic rock composed primarily of calcite (a calcium carbonate mineral). It forms when limestone is subjected to high temperatures and pressures, usually as a result of deep geological processes in the Earth's crust. Marble is known for its crystalline and translucent appearance, resulting from the recrystallisation process of the present minerals, which increases the rock's density and hardness. Although it is relatively hard, it can still be carved and polished, making it popular in sculpture and construction. It has a density of about 2.7 grams per cubic centimetre and a hardness of about 3 on the Mohs scale. The continuous works represent the result of life subjecting us to high temperatures and pressures, reflecting the processes of the environments we experience. They highlight a timeless transformation, achieving a crystalline and translucent clarity. 5 Structures That Should Make You Question Reality. 1. Sonehenge A popular tourist site and also one of the oldest megalith in the world. Why it was made remains a mystery. It is aligned with the summer solstice’s sunrise and the winter solstice’s sunset. It is considered a great architectural feat at the time it was built so much so a unique joint usually found only in woodworking was used. 2. Pyramid of Giza Considered a feat of architectural genius, it was constructed for the pharaoh Khufu and it remained the tallest megalith on earth for 3,871 years. It’s also the last standing 'wonder' of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and with its impressive mathematical facts, I see why. Its elevation encodes the true proportions of the Moon and Earth and also the most important constants in mathematics; π, Φ, and e. Any math genius in the house? Apparently, this mysterious 481 feet tall structure shouldn’t have been possible to build when it was built, the technology didn’t exist. Yet, here it is, clear as day. Where did the technology and know-how come from? So far, every answer provided, is a mere speculation. To date, scientists have not determined a way to recreate the Pyramid of Giza, even on a smaller scale, with the same precision as those who built the original. 3. The Great Sphinx of Giza It was carved from a single piece of limestone. It is a statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with the head of a human and the body of a lion. It is among the world's largest sculptures, measuring some 240 feet (73 metres) long and 66 feet (20 metres) high. The Great Sphinx and the Pyramid of Giza line up perfectly with the sun on the equinox. See a pattern? 4. Easter Island/Rapa Nui It is one of the most remote islands in the world. Their existence is enigmatic but it is believed the Moai were carved to commemorate (more like pay homage) important ancestors. Who could they be? Nephilims? 5. Machu Pichu A mountain citadel like no other. The stones fit so tightly together that not even a knife's blade could fit between them. It was also built without the use of mortar, metal tools, or the wheel. Truly, the technology employed is way over our heads. In 2007, it was named as one of the new seven wonders of the world. It is believed to be connected to the stars. Again, the synchronized astronomical alignment is evident. Let’s recap; The megalith structures strewn all over the world are as mysterious as their purpose. One theme weaved through their existence is their alignment to celestial phenomena pointing to a deep knowledge of the cosmos in an almost reverent fashion. Who done it? Mind you, advanced technology of our day cannot replicate the megaliths even if we tried. Also, how do you interpret the megaliths in light of evolution? The concept of 2D materials, as we understand them today, is a modern scientific development and wasn't present in ancient Egyptian civilization. However, ancient Egyptians were known for their remarkable achievements in various fields, including materials science, art, architecture, and engineering. Here are some insights into their use of materials that might be considered advanced for their time: 1. Papyrus: Although not a 2D material in the modern sense, papyrus was an early example of a thin, flexible sheet used for writing. It was made from the papyrus plant and was crucial for record-keeping and literature in ancient Egypt. 2. Pigments and Paints: Ancient Egyptians created vibrant colors using natural minerals. For example, they used malachite for green, azurite for blue, and ochres for reds and yellows. These pigments were ground into fine powders, somewhat akin to the way modern 2D materials like graphene are derived from bulk materials. 3. Gold Leaf: Egyptians mastered the art of hammering gold into thin sheets to gild objects and structures. While not a true 2D material, the process of creating gold leaf demonstrates an early understanding of manipulating materials into very thin layers. 4. Glass and Faience: The Egyptians were skilled in making glass and faience, using silica and other compounds to create intricate objects. While not 2D materials, these technologies show their advanced knowledge of material processing. 5. Stone Carving and Monumental Architecture: The precise carving of massive stone blocks and sculptures, such as those found in temples and pyramids, demonstrates an advanced understanding of material properties and engineering. While ancient Egyptians didn't work with 2D materials as we define them today, their innovative use of available materials laid the groundwork for many technological advancements.

I am happy to share them with his permission (see below). All architecture bears a message.” Chapter 17: The Message of Structure  “Aesthetic tenets are dynamic; nothing is absolute about them. And yet, mankind has always tried to achieve aesthetic results, even in its most humble artifacts, because the satisfaction of aesthetic feelings is one of the basic needs of humanity… It is common belief that purely structural messages originate in our intuitive understanding of structural behavior, which stems both from out daily physical experience with structural actions and from our perception of structural forms in nature.” Afterword:  “The architect deals with subjective human, social, and aesthetic problems. The engineer’s domain is physics and mathematics… These members of the construction team talk different languages… It is hoped that all of us, whether professionally involved or amateurishly interested in architecture, will take even greater interest in the complex decisions about the built environment.”
