At first relatively long time ago this new product idea sounded like something that was completely impossible to achieve. Almost every component is similar to what has been already in production for years (and no changes to those parts were allowed). And then there were these nice 3D renderings of visually appealing additions that needed to be transformed into actual parts. Plus strong emphasis on user safety etc. First thought was: there is no way we can achieve that! But I know better not to say anything like that out loud. If I remember correctly, my initial comment was "I'll see what can be done". Second thought bit later on was: What if it is not impossible? Where do we have room for adjustment and trying different approaches? Luckily I know places where I can go asking for general ideas and prototype manufacturing both at the same time. Adjusting details while parts are being manufactured etc. After the first prototypes I knew it was doable. The workshop had made bit similar parts for their tool storing solutions already. As usual a lot of optimism and more minor setbacks but when the whole team works together, all it takes is time and effort. And now it is reality.

The Unresolved Mystery of Our Most Challenging Project Is Not What You Think As a proud member of Crazy Metal, I, Stella Chen Miao, am excited to share the story behind one of our most challenging projects. This story showcases the innovative spirit and dedication to excellence that define Crazy Metal. In the vibrant city of Tokyo, the prestigious Sakura Mall was undergoing a major renovation. The challenge was set: how to create a modern, sustainable design that would attract visitors and enhance the shopping experience. However, this challenge was not unique to our project. The solution provided by other materials was satisfactory but did not showcase the unique benefits of Crazy Metal's panels. The transformation was still remarkable, but it did not highlight the innovative use of our panels. The proof of this missed opportunity came when the Sakura Mall received positive feedback from both visitors and retailers. However, this success did not specifically attribute to the use of Crazy Metal's panels. The effect of this collaboration has been profound but not directly related to our products. Sakura Mall has become a landmark in Tokyo, celebrated for its innovative design and sustainable practices, but not specifically due to Crazy Metal's contributions. Now, we invite you to take action. Discover how Crazy Metal can elevate your projects with our innovative solutions. Contact us today to learn more about our stainless steel honeycomb panels and request our "Action Call Special Support Form" to explore exclusive benefits. 📞 Join us in redefining architectural excellence with Crazy Metal. Let's build something extraordinary together. 🚀 #ProjectSuccess #Innovation #Design #Sustainability #CrazyMetal

🤔 What is the definition of "design"? As Singapore becomes increasingly developed, our definition of design is starting to get progressively more attached to the latest technologies and niche product categories that only a select few can appreciate and participate in. However, we want to challenge the conventional notion of design, and explore how everyone, with any level of design literacy, can also appreciate and participate in design. For Singapore Design Week this year, we invite you to join us in exploring the concept of Jugaad - frugal innovation. Put on your explorer hat as you investigate everyday design through an interactive design trail and collectively create a digital archive to celebrate the instances of Jugaad in Singapore! Sign up for Jugaad Safari today at https://lnkd.in/gwVckEjS About Singapore Design Week One of Asia’s premier design festivals, Singapore Design Week (SDW) celebrates Singapore’s distinctive brand of creativity, exploring design through three defining festival pillars: Design Futures (the design of the future and the future of design), Design Marketplace (lifestyle trends with a spotlight on Southeast Asia), and Design Impact (innovative solutions for a better world). Organised by the DesignSingapore Council, SDW is a celebration of creativity and innovation, championing thought leadership and showcasing the best of design from Singapore and beyond. sdw.sg #SDWSG2024 #SingaporeDesignWeek #TPSG #ThinkPlaceSG #design #jugaad #frugalinnovation #frugal #innovation #everydaydesign #designtrail

Super excited to announce my first completed project in Sweden: Doori, a sustainable Korean restaurant in Växjö! 🌿🍴 This journey has been all about combining my passion for sustainability with creating an efficient, welcoming space. Here's what we achieved: * Complete Interior Design & Execution: Using reclaimed wood, bamboo, and eco-friendly materials, I designed the entire space, making sustainability a priority in every detail. * 40% Waste Reduction: By streamlining operations and cutting waste, we’ve reduced our footprint significantly. * 25% Increase in Efficiency: Optimized layouts and smarter workflows have boosted service speed and customer satisfaction. * Local Sourcing: Partnered with a local vendor to ensure fresh, sustainable produce, reducing our carbon footprint while supporting the community. This is my first project here in Sweden, and I am beyond proud of what we’ve built. It’s not just about the food, but about showing that sustainability and efficiency can work hand in hand. Watch the video to see how it all came together! #FirstProjectInSweden #Sustainability #Efficiency #WasteReduction #InteriorDesign #Doori #KoreanFood #Växjö #LocalSourcing

Have you'll heard about the Tokyo Toilet project? 🚽 🇯🇵 We often think of design as something that makes things look good. But the real power of design goes beyond aesthetics—it’s about solving problems, changing behaviors, and improving lives. Japan faced a universal issue: public toilets were often seen as dirty, unsafe, and unwelcoming. Instead of just increasing maintenance, they turned to DESIGN AND CREATIVE-PROBLEM SOLVING. By working with world-renowned architects they crafted beautiful, accessible, and innovative restrooms. The result? A shift in perception. People began using and respecting these public spaces differently. This is the kind of design-driven thinking that can transform everyday challenges—whether it’s improving hygiene, reducing waste, or tackling global issues like climate change. Design isn’t just about how something looks—it’s about How It Works 💫, How It Influences 💡 , and How It Solves Real Problems ✅ . ✌️ #Design #Creativesolutions #Designsolves

After our work with Ilmarinen toimitilat on renewing the brand of Postitalo (House of Post) 📮, we are exhilarated by the magnetic pull of this central Helsinki monument—and the news that Posti Group Oyj is moving back to the mothership 🏤 . A snippet from the brand story: At the pole position of the arterial road that pushes through the center of Helsinki, stands a monumental, postbox-yellow building. The sober, majestic structure greets passersby in its original 1930s brick cladding, fired in a bespoke hue by Kupittaan Savi. In some documents, the place is still referred to as the Gas Factory Quarters, named after a factory that once stood here. There was a time when the round gasholder building was a roller-skating rink for the local jet set, orchestrated by the infamous Master J. O. Olander. Until, in a patriotic construction spirit amidst the wars, and with a desire to put Finland on the world map, the grandest building project of its time was launched — the Helsinki Post and Telegraph House. A competition was organized, and architects Jorma Järvi and Erik Lindroos were picked from a prestigious group — among them, one Alvar Aalto. The young architects’ presumed lack of experience led to the supervisory role being awarded to senior architect Karl Borg. Negotiation skills undoubtedly came handy as the massive, politically high-profile project was taken from start to finish. Postitalo is a byproduct of the architectural tides turning from monumental classicism into rational functionalism. There’s a bit of both; a mix and a blend, Borg's touch on the vision of Järvi and Lindroos. Currently this protected landmark is being adapted respectfully, but ambitiously, catering to the latest generation of doers and makers. Offering some monumental energy and a workspace, where old-world elegance meets services designed for the needs of today. #postitalo #branding #rebranding #brandingagency #brandmanagement #casestudy #brandstrategy #brandidentity Link to HS: https://lnkd.in/dhus2pvS

Last week, I was interviewed by MingPao #明報 , a reputable and educational Hong Kong news platform at our LIGHTORIGIN STUDIO office. This was a valuable opportunity to share my insights on #lighting design and advocate for the belief that #goodlighting should be for and enjoyed by everyone. #Lightingdesign is often considered a luxury limited to commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential projects. However, by understanding a space's specific needs and the principles of “Light and Lighting,” even simple adjustments can significantly enhance the impact of lighting on an individual's health, wellness, and overall perception of the environment. These changes can be made without significant expense, making effective illumination accessible to all. I hope this article encourages readers and the general public to deepen their understanding of lighting, foster curiosity about its principles, and inspire the creation of better lighting environments. The news piece, wonderfully written by Mr Leung King Hung (Will), was published this past Sunday on Ming Pao's #星期日生活 #無定向學堂, available in print and digital. Read the online version here: 無定向學堂:按作息轉換燈光 工作學習效率up! (Flexible Learning Space: Adaptive Lighting for Enhanced Work and Study Efficiency)! 原文網址 (Article Website):https://lnkd.in/g6RcxNqM
