A challenge for architects and specifiers is to ensure they install the best possible, cost-effective layered security, while skillfully avoiding an oppressive or forbidding institutional aesthetic. We know from our direct experience in Australia, New Zealand, and the rapidly growing market of Papua New Guinea, that this is possible. The elegant combination of striking aesthetics and effective security is also confirmed by landmark overseas projects – including the spectacular Exchange House in London. Having worked on multiple buildings within the Broadgate development, our Boon Edam UK colleagues were appointed by fit-out and refurbishment contractor Parkeray to deliver a tailored entry solution that would seamlessly integrate with the newly refurbished reception. Considering the project scope, building capacity and intended use, Boon Edam proposed two Crystal Tourniket revolving doors and two banks of Signature Speedlane Sculpt speed gates, both technologies that have been popular and successfully applied here. Read the full Exchange House case study below, and talk to us about how revolving doors and speed gates can be part of an elegant and secure entry solution. In the #lighting design of ancient buildings, the use of white light is to restore the natural state of ancient buildings in daylight, through the white light lighting with good colour rendering, it can better show the structural beauty and cultural characteristics of ancient #buildings. For example, the lighting design of ancient buildings should avoid the use of #colourful lights and use mono color to truly show the colour and details of the building itself . In addition, the lighting design also needs to take into account the protection of the safety of the ancient buildings and avoid light pollution, the use of appropriate lamps and installation methods, to ensure that under the premise of not destroying the appearance of the ancient buildings, through the light to show its beauty. #lighting #facadelighting #outdoorlighting #rgbw #rgb
