Dr. Laurel Buxbaum, as well as MRRI Scientist in Residence Dr. Gabriella Vigliocco and Former MRRI Postdoc Dr. Frank Garcea, are among an international group of experts who contributed to this recently accepted collaborative paper that provides working definitions of 17 key constructs in the domain of semantic knowledge, including abstractness, embodiment, action semantics, semantic control, and semantic distance. My article reached 20 citations! We are thrilled to share that we have discovered an exact solution to the Lippmann-Schwinger equation for a two-dimensional circular billiard. By diagonalizing an integral operator with a kernel represented by a zeroth order Hankel function of the first kind, we were able to utilize its eigenfunctions and eigenvalues to straightforwardly obtain the exact wavefunctions of the Lippmann-Schwinger equation in question. This breakthrough opens up new possibilities for understanding and analyzing wave behavior in similar systems.
