✨🏡 Session Sneak Peek: Tracking and Communicating Design Changes Impacting Energy Performance in a Large Complex Passive House Project. In this session, Torsten Ely RDH Building Science will demonstrate how to manage design changes affecting the energy performance of a large complex Passive House project with many consultants and stakeholders. The project proved the certifiability at the design stage but faced various challenges and opportunities during the construction phase that altered some of the details. A spreadsheet tool was used to track the changes, their reasons, and their impact on energy performance and certification. The results were communicated to the project team using graphs that highlighted the key changes and their implications. The presentation will share some tips and best practices for this process. Check out this new research on #publicprivatepartnership (#p3 / #ppp) performance in US #transportation projects: https://lnkd.in/gcxy3n5h. Titled "Performance and Efficiency Diffusion of US Surface Transportation Public-Private Partnerships," this groundbreaking study by Kunqi (Quincy) Zhang, Qingbin Cui, and Patrick DeCorla-Souza documents the effectiveness of P3s over the past three decades using longitudinal data from 133 major projects across 34 states. Here are the key findings: Time Advantage: P3s outperform traditional Design–Bid–Build (DBB) methods in terms of time certainty. Cost Efficiency Spillover: While cost certainty is comparable, P3s demonstrate a unique "efficiency diffusion" effect, driving cost-saving innovations that benefit even non-P3 projects. These new findings largely confirm our prior observations of specific P3 performance advantages (see https://lnkd.in/gvv8mV-V) and add to the growing empirical evidence on P3 performance!
