There are no words I can use to fully describe the rage and sadness I feel by the recent actions of a streamer who exploited a vulnerable homeless individual for her personal gain. Coercing someone into jumping into a lake and then fleeing the scene as they struggled to stay afloat is not only morally reprehensible but also a flagrant disregard for human life. Such behavior is utterly inexcusable and should be condemned by all. Exploiting the desperation and vulnerability of a homeless person for entertainment reflects a profound lack of empathy and basic decency. This incident highlights the urgent need for platforms to enforce (and users to demand) stricter guidelines and take immediate action against those who misuse their influence in such harmful ways. Our thoughts and support are with the victim, and we call on the appropriate authorities to ensure justice is served. We also urge everyone to demand dignity of individuals, especially those who are most vulnerable, to prevent such egregious acts from happening in the future. https://lnkd.in/gnbF2Wvw

WHY MOVIES? In confronting trafficking, there seem to be two worlds. The public whose children are trafficked, and the people in power running policies and agencies who are questionable in their motives as trafficking is growing — and we let it. The public is misinformed at best. When a movie like Sound of Freedom came out, the people in power waged an active misinformation campaign against it. So, I’m working on a mainstream, non-cause/non-political action movie in the style of John Wick or Taken as that is how to educate people who don’t want to see cause films about how trafficking works. I want it to be a blockbuster with A-list talent and not be about saving the ones taken — but about how even just two people can wage a real war on trafficking and be more effective than our current government. If you are sincere in wanting to stop trafficking, as a person from a trafficking family/trafficked mother, JOIN ME. HELP GET THIS FILM OUT. IT NEEDS FUNDING as I can’t count on studios or where I’d normally fund a film. I am using a renegade tactic to increase indignation by reaching them with something they’ll see. Surrey Police have launched a new awareness raising campaign on sexting, aimed at young people, as their research (like ours) highlighted that asking, or being asked, for a nude image is common. It's a very different campaign style- wise to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF)'s Think Before You Share campaign but the messaging is very similar and encourages parents and carers to: talk about the issue with their children; ask open questions, avoid shaming; stay calm; remind children of the risks associated with sharing; recognise the pressure they might feel to share; and refer to services such as Report Remove should their children's images already be online. #SurreyPolice #sexting #campaign #Thinkbeforeyoushare #reportremove #oktoask? Maximum effort. ✅✅ If you know, you know. As parents of teens will know - it’s hard to find micro moments where you can do or share something with your teen, right? Especially in this age of online and devices. My working, daily experiment, is to just keep poking with ‘asks’ and ‘suggestions’, until I get a grunt that vaguely sounds like a ‘maybe’ or a ‘yes’. A ‘maybe’ might mean I need to up the anti on my bribery and negotiation tactics. A ‘yes’ means I got to move fast and do the thing…or it may fade into a ‘no’. Randomly, somehow..I got Maddie curious about Deadpool - she’d spotted their collab piece of content with Stray Kids (KPOP band) - and Ryan and Hugh appeared in their music video. So I pulled on that thread. “Maddie, should we check out the Deadpool movies? The new one is coming out - but I haven’t really gotten into the Deadpool character. Wanna see what the hype’s about?” And thank you Stray Kids…she said yes. So I got share watching the first two Deadpool movies - hiding behind my hands for a lot of it, but giggling a lot through other parts of it. And…I then got to have a cinema trip too for the new movie. We keenly looked out for how they’d do the Stan Lee cameo - and we weren’t disappointed!
