We must collectively strive to prevent the recurrence of such distressing occurrences. Particularly poignant is the exploitation of the sacrifices made by our military personnel for political gains and electioneering advantage. During my 7-day hospital stay, I had lots of time to talk to God, meditate on His Word, and think about life. As I meditated on promises of healing for my own benefit, I gained fresh insight into God’s covenant of healing with His people. I also have come away with a fresh passion and determination to proclaim Jesus, teach His Word to this generation, and lay hold of all for which He has laid hold of me (Philippians 4:12).
