This insight underscores the significant impact that rising construction expenses have on the field, affecting projects and firms alike. Understanding these challenges is crucial as we navigate this period of economic uncertainty. How has work in your firm or sector been feeling recently? Some projects take over a lifetime to complete. Some will take multiple lifetimes to complete. Like the Saint Andrews Cathedral that I visited last week. 150 years, 3-4 generations of builders, architects, administrators, financers. Do you think the people that started this project could imagine how it would look like when it was done? Probably not... Kind of like most projects I've ever worked on, to be honest. #design #history #architecture #projects #development.
