environment creates behaviour. A lot of the underbelly to most design events I have attended are quite serious, end-of-world in tone - whilst that has a place, Design Truth is more an avenue for fun. Creating that point of difference is normally through the environments we rock up at, allowing people to be a genuine version of themselves rather than the online alter-ego. A major part of the process when creating four events in four weeks across Cambridge, Bristol, London & Manchester is the venue. How do we find somewhere that is true to the people within the area but does not deviate from the atmosphere and tone that we want to create. I love the spaces for February's events - let me know what you think (or if you want me to share more of the inner-workings in how these events form into something special.) One of CannonDesign ambitions, The Big Rethink, is all about flipping the tables on conventions and embracing the unexpected. SRG + CannonDesign did exactly that when designing two parking garages for a renowned athletic company. These next-generation structures redefine the typical parking experience by prioritizing placemaking and creating substantial spaces for pedestrian and recreational use. By rethinking the design and purpose of buildings like parking structures, we can transform mundane moments into opportunities for inspiration and connection, fundamentally reshaping what it means to navigate our cities and communities. 🚗 Learn more in this piece by Aaron Pleskac. https://lnkd.in/e5GjSfWP
