𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐆𝐈𝐒 𝐔𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 ArcGIS Urban is a web-based that uses a #3D experience in applying #GIS technology to urban #planning. ArcGIS Urban provides #tools that simplify the complex #zoning process. It improves planning and #decision-making by streamlining the processes: Plan #creation, Impact #analysis, Project #visualization, and Public #engagement. ArcGIS Urban provides the tools to view #design, #manage, and #measure urban #projects. These tools simplify the zoning process and help #planners, #developers, and #stakeholders with planning and decision-making. Urban enables users to create a #digitaltwin of a city and leverage these same tools to create and analyze projects using the real-life details of the city. Ever wondered how cities get planned? It's not just magic! GIS tools are the secret weapon, bringing together maps, data, and imagination to design thriving urban spaces. Here's what GIS can do: ▪ See the bigger picture: Overlay social, economic, and environmental data on maps to understand a city's true needs. ▪ Predict the future: Analyze trends and growth patterns to plan for a sustainable tomorrow. ▪ Make informed decisions: Data-driven insights empower planners to optimize resources and create better living spaces. ▪ Check Out Our Infographic Post for More #GIS #UrbanPlanning #Infographic #DataVisualization #SpatialAnalysis #AEC #architecture #engineering

A quick screenshot from demo application I am bringing to Minneapolis #NPC24, yes I know it still has the default character! What matters is the exported #ArcGIS #CityEngine buildings and modelling (with attribution) and some other special enhancements... the path for #planning, #urbandesign, and #architecture, from #geospatial data to fully interactive #digitaltwins is much clearer now. #geodesign (a big shout out to David Wasserman, AICP and his excellent 'Complete Streets Rule'!) cc ViewPro GIS

🌍 Work with a System, Not Project-Based: The Power of #GIS for Architects, Urban Designers and Planners! 🏙️ Transitioning from architectural design into urban planning, I became an expert in GIS applied to urban and real estate studies. This shift has highlighted the incredible efficiency of working with GIS—or as I call it, working with a system, not project-based. No matter where you are—I've experienced the same in Latin America, the USA, and the UK—we typically analyze sites on a project-by-project basis. However, with GIS, you can perform city-wide analyses, saving time and ensuring that work done is useful for future projects, making the process much more efficient. Unlike traditional methods (like zoning PDFs or flood risk maps), GIS software like QGIS integrates geospatial data for comprehensive, up-to-date city-wide analysis. These layers often cover extensive areas, beneficial for future nearby projects. This approach saves time, ensures consistency, and improves accuracy. That's working with a system, not project-based. If you have any questions, please comment or DM me! #UrbanDesign #UrbanPlanning #QGIS #SpatialData #CityPlanning #DataAnalysis #Geospatial #UrbanDesign

The evolution of maps from 2D to 3D has transformed how we understand and interact with geographic information. Traditional 2D maps provided foundational insights, but with advancements in technology, 3D mapping tools like Google Earth, Cesium, MapLibre, and ArcGIS have revolutionized spatial analysis. These tools offer features such as detailed satellite imagery, high-performance rendering, customizable map styles, and advanced spatial analysis capabilities. In the AEC industry, the shift to 3D GIS has enhanced urban planning, infrastructure management, and environmental monitoring, enabling more accurate and dynamic data visualization. This evolution is driving innovation, making geospatial data more accessible and actionable for a wide range of applications. #3DMapping #GIS #AEC #digitalTwin #SpatialAnalysis #TechInnovation Below link gives a fare idea about the features provided by ESRI https://lnkd.in/dBMXvspJ
