What a pleasure it was to team up with NorthStar Museums and Education and the Freire Schools to convert the former vacant building at 205 W. 14th Street to a brand new athletic facility for the Freire Charter School of Wilmington. The project consisted of renovations to the existing building's 1st floor to create an athletic center including a high school regulation basketball court with locker room suites, fitness center with laundry, and support spaces. Shout out to our design team including LARSEN & LANDIS, INC, Blake & Vaughan Engineering, Inc., and Apex Engineering, Inc. GGA Construction was instrumental in bringing the project to life. Their involvement during the design phase and construction helped keep the project under budget and on time. Both Principal Kevin Wilson, AIA, LEED AP and Project Manager Rachel Reichert were in attendance for the school's inaugural home basketball game at the new facility.
