Our TechOperators LLC Fund III company Todyl announced today their $50M Series B financing round led by Base10 Partners, with participation from Anthos Capital and TechOperators LLC. We could not be more excited about Todyl and this fundraise. We met Todyl and its founder and CEO John Nellen in January of 2020 right before Covid-19 was declared a pandemic. TechOperators has historically had an affinity for businesses that service small business. The market is huge, but challenging to service, requiring careful and effective execution. Todyl’s mission from the beginning and continuing as their North Star today is to provide the very best #cybersecurity solution possible for #smallbusiness. Today, Todyl services hundreds of #msp partners and thousands of customers with a fully integrated, cost-effective and value-driven security platform, putting them on an equal footing with the world’s most well-heeled enterprises. Todyl’s approach is not dissimilar to that of Palo Alto Networks or CrowdStrike, however their market is. Enterprise solutions do not work well for small business operators. They rely on MSPs to deliver IT and security services—they are much more cost-conscious, resource constrained and averse to complexity. Doing security for #smb is hard, especially in the current environment where SMBs are just as vulnerable to hacking, fraud and ransomware as Fortune 500 enterprises.
