Here's a new playlist from Success Engineering. https://lnkd.in/g7fzKvzZ Systems Thinking, First Principles of Knowledge Work, and Factors for Effective Value Streams Systems thinking is woefully missing from the Agile space. This has resulted in a focus on local optimizations, a lack of proper talent pay approaches, and poor ways to deal with complexity. Systems are defined by the relationships between the components of the system. When the premise of Inherent Simplicity, which suggests that even complex systems have, at their core, a few forces that govern the system, systems are much more understandable than one would at first believe. This provides a powerful way of looking at complex systems, which can guide us in understanding them better. Dealing with complexity An effective way to navigate the complex world of knowledge work using first principles and Factors for Effective Value Streams that derive from them. When you have validated theory to guide yourself, you don't need to make your approach immutable. Course correct as quickly as possible. Course correcting quickly eliminates the waste that comes from building the wrong thing. Navigating Complexity With Fast Feedback. Complexity means we can’t see everything that is happening. However, by getting quick feedback and using it to see what is happening, we can avoid the damage complexity can cause.
