Last Friday, October 11th, some of the ARConnect team went to Des Arc, Arkansas for a ribbon cutting to advocate for the launch of a new 10-county network by Resound. Digital Inclusion Week (DIW) is an annual week of awareness, recognition and celebration. DIW is organized by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) and its 1,800+ affiliates nationwide. DIW raises awareness and promotes action for digital equity solutions. Communities all across the country will highlight their efforts online and in person. This year’s theme, “Stronger Together: Mobilizing Towards Sustainability,” highlights the power of collaboration in ensuring the longevity of the digital equity movement. *NEWS ALERT* from The Arkansas State Broadband Office. Arkansas' BEAD Initial Proposal Volume 2 has been approved by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). This approval enables Arkansas to request more than $1 billion in funding and finally begin implementation of the next round of broadband infrastructure grants, funded through the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program. As our state's ISPs and broadband stakeholders can attest, our team has been hard at work preparing behind the scenes for this moment. Today's announcement will trigger several steps by The Arkansas State Broadband Office to bring us closer to launching the next round of grants! Thank you to Governor Sanders and Hugh McDonald for your leadership, our team at The Arkansas State Broadband Office for their dedicated hard work, as well as the Arkansas General Assembly and all Arkansas broadband stakeholders for doing your part in helping us get to this day.
