One of my favorite aspects of what I do is sharing what I’ve learned and learning from others. It always amazes me how each of us has simple yet practical insights to offer. Here are a few tips from IR leaders on making meetings with investors more effective which I picked up at the roundtable DGA Group kindly invited to me and my colleague Victoria Sant from the The Investor Forum CIC last week. Start with an Overview: At the beginning of any meeting, take five minutes to provide an overview of your business model, how you generate revenue, and your strategy. This is helpful, especially at conferences where investors might have varying levels of knowledge about your business, and as they cover a large number of companies. Build on Previous Discussions: If you’ve had a meeting with your investors before, remember what was discussed. Address and build on that dialogue to ensure efficiency and continuity. We know everyone is time-poor, so making the most of your time together is essential. These practical actions build on the work that we've been doing at The Investor Forum CIC to bridge the gaps between companies and investors. Last week we hosted our inaugural Investor Relations roundtable breakfast, with guest speakers Sallie Pilot and Victoria Sant from the The Investor Forum CIC.
