Petrobras has released the results for its latest OSRV (Oil Spill Response Vessel) tender, offering bidders a chance to bid again. In the previous tender, most bidders were disqualified for submitting incorrect fuel consumption data. Petrobras responded quickly by launching a new tender in the market, giving companies another chance to submit their bids. The rates came in at a lower level than expected and well below Arctic's projections, showing owners target of securing utilization. The OSRV category is highly dependent on Petrobras, which is reflected in the rates offered.

Petrobras recently published the official ranking of proposals for the latest OSRV (Oil Spill Response Vessel) tender. 10 vessels were disqualified, 9 of which due to the mistaken submission of the fuel consumption spreadsheet, affecting 4 distinct owners. Currently, 13 vessels remain under consideration, divided into 2 lots. Root cause: An initial error in the documentation package provided by Petrobras, which included the wrong spreadsheet (PSV consumption scenarios instead of OSRV). In Q&A Circular 6 of 8, a corrected spreadsheet was made available, but many participants missed this update. What lesson can be learned from this tender process? Your insights and comments are welcome. How did a major operator in Norway save approximately $3.3M in one year with offshore wastewater disposal? 🌊⬇️ ✔️ Challenge: high volumes of wastewater (slop) were being generated on large, modern, closed-drain rigs ✔️ Solution: Halliburton recommended BaraH2O® slop unit, an engineered solution for point-of-origin waste treatment at the rig site ✔️ Result: saved the operator approximately $3.3M in net onshore treatment cost, sent 98% less volume of slop to shore for storage, treatment, and disposal, and treated a slop volume of 17,961 m3 offshore for a single rig Read the entire case study to learn how we provide efficient, cost-effective alternatives to treatment facilities.

April 19, 2024, by Naida Hakirevic Prevljak Malaysia’s shipowner MISC has ordered and chartered out, via its petroleum arm AET, ‘the world’s first’ two ammonia dual-fuel Aframaxes. AET signed the shipbuilding contracts for these two vessels with Chinese shipbuilder Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co. (DSIC), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). What is more, AET has entered into time charter party contracts (TCP) with Malaysian company PETCO Trading Labuan Company (PTLCL), Petronas’ midstream services arm, for the tanker duo. Through these vessels, PTLCL will be able to transport its products to customers worldwide while contributing to industry decarbonization by utilizing ammonia as a cleaner alternative to conventional fuel. The signing of these contracts is said to represent a significant step forward in the partners’ efforts to make ammonia a viable fuel for the maritime industry. “Congratulations to AET and PTLCL for reaching a significant step of materialisation today since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in February 2023. It’s been made more meaningful, collaborating with PTLCL, a member of the PETRONAS Group. Thank you, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. for being part of this journey. Well done to MISC Marine and New Energy & Decarbonisation of MISC, the critical enablers in bringing this vision to life,” Captain Rajalingam Subramaniam, President and Group CEO of MISC, commented. “Today’s signing of the Time Charter Party Contracts and the Shipbuilding Contracts is a clear testament of turning ambition into action. These partnerships seamlessly align with our collective vision of driving meaningful and purposeful change globally as we progress towards a net-zero future. With the signing of these contracts, we’re not only advancing sustainable practices but accelerating our journey towards the MISC Group’s 2030 aspirations.”

Have you heard the news about our #Guyana team⤵️ Our key account team ensured a rare capping stack was successfully cleared through customs for Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL). The newly commissioned capping stack, stationed at OSRL’s Guyana Shore Base Inc. (GYSBI), is one of six provided by #OSRL to the industry and one of only two in Latin America. The capping stack is part of a newly established Guyana regional capping stack service, which OSRL members can subscribe to cover their operations in the region. Capping stacks are regarded by the oil and gas industry as essential safety features. Their arrival would be key to secure the integrity of offshore drilling operations, given their ability to control and clip the flow of hydrocarbons in a blowout. Delivering and removing such important and rare material, on time, reinforces our goal to work with precision, and with a promptness that stands for quality and expertise in mission-critical logistics. This operation required unique business organisation, detailed planning, and the skilled execution of our local experts. Blue Water Shipping Guyana offers end-to-end supply chain solutions to the #energy, #oil, and #gas sectors and through our commitment to keeping our promises, we’ve established ourselves as a trusted partner in the #logistics industry. #TogetherWeCreateSolutions #OilSpillResponse #ExxonMobilGuyana #CappingStack #SafetyFirst #LatinAmerica #GYSBI #GuyanaShoreBase #TrustedPartner
