Business Jets used for good causes Business #aircraft are increasingly being used for charitable & humanitarian purposes. More than three-quarters (77%) report supporting local or national #charities by providing them with some access to their aircraft. Nearly half (44%) support the US cancer charity Corporate Angel Network (CAN). This often takes the form of providing free #travel on corporate aircraft to attend remote treatment. Some also provide access to their aircraft during crises such as #humanitarian relief or emergency evacuations. Of those which do not currently make their aircraft available for charitable & humanitarian causes, 39% planned to start doing this within the next two years. The main reason for not #flying such missions, cited by more than half of respondents, was that no one was appointed to manage such operations. Nearly one third (30%) said it is because they do not have enough spare capacity to use their aircraft for the purpose. Over the next two years, 86% plan to increase their budget for #philanthropy, with 12% predicting a significant rise in humanitarian #flights. Airbus Aircraft commissioned the independent research company Pureprofile to survey 100 senior executives at large US family offices whose organisation has on average $3.35b of assets under management. 🧡 We're delighted to have 11 businesses on board already, since we launched Friends of The Feed last month. What's it all about? 🤝 Friends of The Feed are organisations who have committed to raising £1,000 for The Feed in 2024 by fundraising and / or sponsorship of our events. How will the money be used? 🛒 Money raised will support our projects in Norwich, so that people can eat well, live well and feel connected. The largest such project is our Social Supermarket and Community Café on Hall Road in Norwich. As at January 2024, this modest venue was providing free and low-cost groceries to over 5,000 people affected by the rising cost of living. Why is this needed? 📈 Norfolk has the highest malnutrition rate in England. 6.7% of the county's residents are malnourished which is 1/3rd higher than the average for England. These figures are from an independent report undertaken in October 2023 by Future Health. How much difference can £1,000 make? 🍑 🥕 £1,000 is how much we spend each month on fruit and vegetables, which are then given out free to its Social Supermarket members.
