ARDEX UK’s Post

As an approved supplier of Transport for London (TfL), ARDEX products have been supplied to many London Underground projects over the decades. From way back in 1984 when ARDEX supplied the products to fix 500,000 tiles at Piccadilly Circus Underground, to this year when ARDEX products played a vital role in the refurbishment of Old Street Station in central London, ARDEX systems have been trusted time and again for their quality and longevity. More than 30 years ago at Piccadilly, due to the tight constraints of the underground, extensive testing was needed in order to ensure the project was in line with safety regulations. Chief Chemist at the time Cyril Potter conducted pull off and vibration tests before the project began to guarantee that the products would stand the test of time; demonstrating that not only do ARDEX provide quality products, but also offer support throughout the project, including onsite visits, specification writing and advising on best practice and application. Nowadays, all ARDEX High Performance Tile Adhesives are flexible, with additional benefits such as increased slump resistance, extended open times and improved workability, all without the need of an admix. After 30 years the refurbishment of Piccadilly still looks the same as it did when we first completed the project back in 1984. The condition of the station is second to none, with no cracking or de-bonding evident on the original tiles. ARDEX continues to be a preferred supplier for all current work for TfL, including Cross-Rail.
