The Indian Army is about to name its first commander, born after the 1962 India-China conflict, marking a dramatic generational change. By mid-June, this historic appointment—which falls under the jurisdiction of the recently elected government—should be made public. General Manoj Pande, whose service was unusually extended by one month, extending his retirement date to June 30, 2024, would be succeeded by the next head. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved this prolongation, which heightens the strain in the selection process. General Pande, who was born on May 6, 1962, is the first Indian Army commander to come from the Corps of Engineers. Lieutenant General AK Singh and Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the two most senior candidates for his successor and 1964 natives, are scheduled to retire on June 30 and 30, corresponding with his extension. The nomination of a commander born after the 1962 conflict was a critical turning point in the Indian Army's leadership transition. It illustrates the institution's growth and the ongoing strategic problems it faces. Dedicated to support Martyr Families / Veernaris, Disabled Soldiers, Disabled Children of Indian Armed Forces & Paramilitary Forces | Non profitable Grassroot Organization | from Indian Army Family | Proud Indian 🇮🇳
Jai Hind Connections Which is your personal reason for supporting or being inspired by blogs on our braveheart Soldiers or their Veer naari Wife joining Army ? Please take a moment to reflect on why you support these stories/ blogs and how you feel you have contributed meaningfully : Options... 1. Inspired by real-life stories : The bravery of our Soldiers and their VeerNaris motivates me to act. Beyond social media, I aim to extend my support through volunteering, donations, or other tangible means. 2. Desire to serve in a new way : Though I couldn’t join the Armed Forces, I now want to contribute by actively supporting organizations that help soldiers' families and veterans, beyond just liking posts or watching war movies. 3. Support that truly matters : While it’s heartwarming to see support online, I believe that real happiness comes from knowing people are willing to make a difference—whether by participating in fundraising, mentoring, or simply reaching out to offer help to them. 4. Encouraging future generations : I wish to inspire my children to serve the nation by encouraging them to join the Armed Forces, but also by setting an example through community-driven efforts that honor our soldiers' sacrifices. 5. Ensuring safety through solidarity : I feel safe knowing braveheart families continue to send their loved ones to protect our nation. I recognize that our safety relies on more than just military strength—it’s strengthened by the direct support we offer to those who sacrifice everything for us. 6. Blogging as a call to action: Writing about these stories isn’t just for gaining followers. It’s about using my platform to rally people to join initiatives that offer direct support to soldiers' families, inspiring others to move from words to deeds. 7. Other reasons: I have my own unique reasons for supporting these brave souls, and I want to share how I can contribute beyond just online gestures. While social media helps spread awareness, our braveheart soldiers and their Veer Naaris (Soldier Widows) NEED much more than mere likes and shares. True support goes beyond the screen—it involves real action, connection, and grassroots efforts. -------------------- A deeper reflection : Just as Ratan Tata Sir, Dr. Abdul Kalam Sir, and Mother Teresa inspired us through their actions and values, the legacy of our brave soldiers and their VeerNaris calls for our "direct involvement". With only a handful of Veer naris (fewer than 9) on #LinkedIn, it’s up to us to not just bring their inspiring stories to the forefront but also extend the grassroot support they all truly need. Let’s rise above superficial gestures and come forward to contribute meaningfully, whether by offering our time, resources, or active participation in causes that help uplift these incredible women. Jai Hind ! -------------------- Thanks Devan Bhalla for the post

She is the proud wife of a martyr. She She fulfilled her late husband’s wishes by joining the Indian Army as a Lieutenant. This is the story of Lt. Rekha Singh and her bravery. Naik Deepak Singh of the 16th Battalion of the Bihar regiment was martyred in the Galwan Valley clashes of June 2020 during the ‘Snow Leopard’ operation. He was posthumously awarded the Vir Chakra in 2021. Rekha, who happened to be a school teacher at the time, quit her job and decided to join the Indian Army. She couldn’t qualify in her first attempt but this did not stop her. She gathered her focus and was successful in the second attempt. She went on to join the OTA (Chennai) and emerged as one of the 5 women officers to join the Artillery Regiment of the Indian Army. While quoting to a daily, she mentioned, “I am feeling very happy and this is really a proud moment for me as well as my family and obviously for my husband. Wherever he is he must be feeling very proud," she said. Stories like these are much need as they inspire us to be brave and showcase courage during the darkest of times. Jai Hind. I hung my uniform in 2020. I remember ,when soldiers were slouching , things were generally going wrong in the unit, errors in work were more than expected, the Commanding Officer would make a subtle remark to the Subedar Major , "Sahab, morale down chal raha hai" ( the morale in general is low). If one particular company of the battalion was losing all competetions, it was generally understood that the comapny's morale is low. The main reason of low morale is never the weather , altitude or separation. It never is imminent enemy threat and danger. It generally is, avoidable reasons like poor leave planning, not so tasty food in the cook house, tasteless tea in the morning , leaking roofs , poorly maintained habitat / toilets, non redressal of mundane grievances, inaccessible leaders, more administration than action / training etc . And what if the morale is high! You can see for yourself. The temperature, snow, and a remote location in the higher reaches of Kashmir, nothing can impact it. The enthusiasm is infectious. #MIlitary or #corporate , the dynamics do not change. The 'Morale' stays important and the #leadership has to take the accountability if the morale is low. Look around you in your office. What vibes do you get? Or should i ask ....." How is the 'josh'? Inspiring Army Tradition: Regimental Dinner Nights One of the most esteemed traditions in the Indian Army is the Regimental Dinner Night. This formal event is steeped in history and serves as a reminder of the regiment's deep bonds of camaraderie and respect. Held periodically, these dinner nights are not just about enjoying a meal together; they celebrate the regimental spirit, discipline, and values that bind the officers and soldiers. The tradition dates back to the British era and has been meticulously preserved by the Indian Army. The evening begins with a ceremonial welcome, where officers are greeted with honour. The event is marked by strict adherence to regimental customs, including dress codes, seating arrangements, and the conduct of toasts. A key highlight of the dinner night is the toast to the President of India, which signifies loyalty to the nation. The Regimental Dinner Night is also an opportunity for officers to engage in meaningful conversations, share experiences, and build lasting bonds. It's a time to reflect on the regiment's history, honour the sacrifices of those who served before, and renew their commitment to uphold the regiment's legacy. This tradition not only reinforces discipline and unity but also instils a sense of pride and belonging among the regiment members, making it a cherished event in the Indian Army. #RegimentalDinner #IndianArmy #MilitaryTradition #Camaraderie #Discipline #Honor #Pride #InspiringMantras #Heritage

Proud to share this video of the Army Air Defense contingent led by a Lady Officer yesterday at the Army day parade! Simply inspiring 👌⭐. Look at the dig of the heels, the cut of the sword as she salutes, marching past the Chief guest dias. This clearly is an expression of rising women power and must inspire women to join the work force with grit, confidence and intrinsic courage. We all need to just applaud and encourage our sisters to go out there, lead and win in every facet of the professional life. Despite all this, the data of PLFS( periodic labour force survey) by the government says that the female labor participation is still not even 10 percent of the work force. This hurts. We as a nation, would only and actually become developed when we equalise our better half in every sens eof the word. May this video inspire many future women to shape their careers in the military 🪖. The tech absorption and the acceptance of women in our military work force is getting better by the day! This video actually made my day! As a CO almost 20 years back, we were tasked to receive and integrate lady officers in combat support arms and it was rather challenging then. It feels great to see the seeds doing so well as grown up trees. Jai Hind 🇮🇳. #Womenpower #womeninmilitary #genderequity #deileaders #Armyday #Armyairdefense #indianarmy #india #inspiringleadership
