🚨Pro tip🚨 Applogetic Statements In this video, we discuss the importance of using effective, empathetic apologies to address unmet patient expectations and demonstrate genuine care in healthcare settings. Patients want to know if healthcare workers care. Effective apologies can demonstrate this by: 1. Acknowledging patient expectations 2. Showing empathy and vulnerability 3. Avoiding blame or disrespect Ineffective apologies include: - "I'm sorry you misunderstood" - "I'm sorry we were in report" - "I'm sorry we're understaffed" Effective apologies recognize unmet expectations without blame. They show respect for patients' desires and uniqueness, making them feel cared for.
