Engineer John Kutsch commented on the US perceived current inability to build nuclear power plants. We in the USA switched almost the entire country from Coal to natural gas in less than 10 years. We ran the fiber optic network we still use to this day in the USA in just a few years, with private capital, back in the 1990's. The 747 Jumbo Jet was developed in under 3 years from concept to flight. The Chinese deploy 1+ Coal plants every week - that is 1,200+ coal plants in 20 years. There is no reason we can not do this - we have resources, people, land, fuel; we just need the guts to do it. Like Glen Seaborg's original goal - 1,000 One Gigawatt Thorium Molten Salt plants by the mid 1980's - we can do it. Bob Hargraves ThorConPower.com
