This is the best performance of our Paralympic team ever in a Paralympic event.🔥. Why do we have to wait another 4 years? Throughout the week, we have been reflecting on the Paralympics and how inspirational it has been. During every meeting it was on in the background acting as a source of motivation. At AKD, our core belief is that all individuals have brilliance within them and that our role is to stimulate or spark that brilliance. That spark can take many different forms, a word of encouragement, or simply witnessing other people do brilliant and remarkable things. The Paralympics was just this, remarkable people doing remarkable things. The Paralympics showcased the remarkable beauty of achievement through the efforts of athletes overcoming various challenges. It highlighted the fruits of rigorous training, sacrifice, and perseverance, offering powerful lessons in resilience and attitude. It’s truly one of the most inspiring sporting events, and it’s frustrating that we have to wait until 2028 to witness these amazing athletes in action again. Four years is just not good enough! India has won a record breaking score of 29 medals at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. 7 of those are gold! How? The government boosted its investment in Paralympics since Tokyo to Rs. 20 crores in 2024. Apart from that, the strength of coaches was also scaled from 45 in Tokyo to 77 in Paris. Nevertheless, Paralympics have traditionally been underfunded in comparison to Olympics. This year’s spectacular performance has helped Indian Paralympics gain the much needed traction. This gives hope for more investment for 2028 Paralympics. Did anyone else watch the Paralympics? I watched the highlights of the Olympics each day, so decided to do the same with the Paralympics. And am so glad I did! So many participants were grateful to have made it to the Paralympics and saw that in itself as the prize. Many recognised how far they had come following an event that significantly changed their life. I saw so many qualities that inspired me. Olympians clearly work hard to get where they are, but with Paralympic participants, it's on another level. There was so much resilience, bravery, and adaptability.  Imagine developing these qualities in the workplace. They would help you to face and overcome any challenge. You'd be capable of surpassing your goals. So what Paralympic quality would you like to embody more? #paralympics #consciousbusiness
