Fine Wines - The USA and Tuscany increased their weekly market share the most of all regions this week This week leads to an increase in the USA’s regional trade share by value, now standing at 16.0%. Tuscany was popular, increasing its regional trade share by value from 9.2% to 14.7% The Rhône experienced the most significant decrease, falling from 4.5% to 2.5% of total trade by value. Fine Wines - Value Burgundy and Pomerol take the lead of the market   Bordeaux led weekly trade, closely followed by Burgundy and Champagne.  Bordeaux’s share of trade decreased from 39.2% last week to 32.3% this week.  Burgundy had another strong close this week, taking a 28.4% share of traded value. Champagne closed with a 12.5% share of traded value.  Piedmont’s trade share increased from 2.6% last week to 6.4% this week, putting it in fourth place, just behind Tuscany and ahead of the USA.  The USA’s share of trade decreased from 5.2% last week to 4.5% this week #wine #wines #finewine #finewines #bordeaux #burgundy #tuscany #toscana #piedmont #piemonte #vino #vini #finewines

Fine Wines | Wine Business - During the last full week of 2023, Bordeaux further lost momentum, ending the seven days to the 28th of December with 29.2% of total trade. Burgundy shot up and overtook Bordeaux as the most traded region by value, narrowly claiming the title with 31.7% of trade.   Despite recording a strong week and accounting for 9.8% of total trade by value, Tuscany’s trade share considerably dipped week-on-week. Tuscany’s share this week remained far ahead of its November share, however. Fine Wines - The Rhône region saw the largest increase in its market share by value out of the regions, rising from 2.7% to 4.5% this week. Italy also saw positive momentum, with Tuscany increasing from 10.8% to 13.1%. Piedmont experienced a rise from 5.1% to 6.4%. Bordeaux saw a slight increase in its trade share this week, climbing to 41.3% from 40.1%. Tuscany’s trade share increased, carrying the region into third place ahead of Champagne. As expected, the Super Tuscans took the lion’s share of the region’s trade. Fine Wines | Secondary Market | Bordeaux - Bordeaux further asserted its dominance on the secondary market, its trade share rising from 40.2% to 48.2%. - Burgundy came in second with 18.8% of weekly trade by value, followed by Champagne which reclaimed third place after a difficult week last week. The region’s share of trade almost doubled from 6.3% to 12.5% this week.
