🌍 Global Nursing Crisis: Bridging the Gap 🌐
The International Council of Nurses (ICN) reports a staggering post-pandemic shortage of over 13 million nurses globally, exacerbating healthcare challenges. As a critical care nurse, I urge a "STAT" response—more nurses everywhere. Nursing leaders are pivotal, but need support from healthcare systems.

👩⚕️ Empowering Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) 👨⚕️
Despite APNs' impactful role in addressing global healthcare challenges, understanding and empowerment vary worldwide. Collaborative learning on education, regulation, and practice is key. Key questions for discussion include:
1️⃣ Education: Are formal APN education systems in place?
2️⃣ Regulation: How is APN practice regulated?
3️⃣ Practice: What models exist for APN care?
🌐 International Collaboratives for Change 🌐
Forming learning collaboratives can drive understanding and development of advanced practice nursing globally. The PEPPA framework, emphasizing evidence-based, patient-focused care, offers a systematic approach for APN role development. As we tackle future crises, fostering global collaboration can lead to innovative solutions and improved access to vital healthcare resources.
