Thanksgiving, is always a special holiday for AzCA. This year is no different, and we would like to acknowledge our thankfulness for all of those who have helped make Arizona's Children Association possible. Without our wonderful employees and supporters, we would not have been able to care for the children and families of Arizona for 111 years. For those who may not know, here is a story from our archive that shares the role Thanksgiving has played in our history as an agency. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for being you! #thankfulness #thanksgiving2023 #thanksgivingdinner #thankyouforyoursupport #turkeytime #teamazca #AzCAhistory

Menahel/CEO MPLS Kollel | Educator | Community Builder | Author- From Mt. Sinai to MPLS | Helping people find wisdom in the Information Age
There’s a challenge our community is facing. The struggle to feel accomplished even when we’re working hard. For struggling balebatim, Eli Fried correctly opines about hamster wheels. For unfulfilled wives, Alexandra Fleksher insightfully writes about Nechama Kichel. Shaina Keren sees the great need for career consulting. Some people say it’s because we have the wrong priorities. Some people say it’s because we are too selfish. I have a much more charitable view. I see the same angst in the Kollel yungeleit that I meet. These are people who definitely have the right priorities and are anything but selfish. They are driven and they work hard yet there’s still something missing… They sometimes express it using words like “I’m just a number,” “I want to matter,” or simply “I want a smaller matzav.” I think all these issues come down to one predictable, unavoidable, and frankly inevitable reality- we’re “Overklallified.” Here’s the brief upshot: The problem isn’t that we’re driven. The problem isnt even that at our core we want the wrong things. It’s a function of our success as a community and a need to now gain individual identities and goals now that we’ve achieved our collective ones. I believe it comes down to living in a generation of individual achievement while still maintaining a Klal identity. In the past we had a Klal identity and a Klal mission. Now we’ve transitioned into an era of individual Avodah. The world for that is internal. The reason we have a hard time realizing that is that we still have our Klal identity. We went from A Klal of group-minded people working on a collective goal. To… A Klal of group-minded people working independently. We need to get to… A Klal made up of individuals who recognize their own internal worlds working on individual achievements. It’s a natural transition akin to an army of military personnel adapting to civilian life after the war is over. What you have now is thousands of people individually running the exact same race. With goals are generic and external. We identify as a member of a group, rather than an individual, and our goals are to get as close to the idyllic avatar of the group that I belong to. In that environment, only one can succeed when everyone else fails. Group identity with a group mission= everyone wins together. Individual identity with independent missions = everyone wins individually. Group identities with independent missions = everyone driven individually for the exact same, externally-defined goal. I.e. rat race, hamster wheel. The solution? Children need to be raised by parents more than mosdos. Group identities need to be overshadowed by individual ones. We need to decentralize and learn to live personal lives and not be reliant on a group. Then our natural drive and ambition can be realized by people living their own lives, not someone else’s. Does any of this resonate with you?

Strategic Transformation Leader | Author | Motivational Speaker | Personal Development Coach | Retired Soldier
Today is widely known as "Giving Tuesday." In this season of giving, let's remember that financial contributions are not the only form of giving. If you give your time, energy, and focus to any organization that exists for the betterment of the world and its inhabitants, THANK YOU! The support you provide, in whatever manner you give it, is so important to furthering a world that is compassionate, caring, and inclusive of all. If it were not for organizations such as Goodwill Industries International, The Salvation Army, and the US Army I would not have the opportunity to serve others in the various ways I try my best to do as those organizations have helped to pave the way for my family to create a legacy of giving, and not just through the pocket book. Please take some time today and check out my favorite organizations Til Valhalla Project and YWAM and learn about their missions and the way they serve. I firmly believe that a life of service is a life well-lived, and one that we are all called to in some form or fashion. My personal giving has come in a variety of forms: ringing a bell in the snow, standing atop a new home as the family prepares to step inside for the first time, listening as a soldier recounts the struggles there are plagued with, and in sharing my personal story so that others might learn from it and build the tools to better themselves. However you can, we must always remember: HELP WHO YOU CAN, HOW YOU CAN, WHENEVER YOU CAN... ALWAYS! #givingseason #givingtuesday #mission22 #1tothe3rd

Odyssey Young Life Coaching - Life and confidence coach for children and teenagers - helping to build their confidence, self-worth and emotional intelligence.
Parents - ask your child, everyday, without fail, 3 things that they are grateful for. 3 things that went well. 3 positive takeaways from that day. You do this daily, asking your child to name 3 positives and do this regularly, in a journal, then, before long, they have a big list of all the positives in their life. Show it them on their down days. All that they have to be grateful for. #odysseyyounglifecoaching #gratitude #gratitudejournaling #kidslifecoach #lifecoachforkids #parents #solihull #kidsconfidencecoach #solihullupdates

💔 Embracing Broken Hearts to Build Strong Bonds 💖 In my life's journey, I've faced heartache, loss, and countless challenges. It's those very experiences that have shaped my path and led me to a purpose I'm deeply passionate about. With a background in owning Salons and Spas, Tech Marketing Consulting, Wellness Centers, and Construction Development, I've gained invaluable knowledge and skills. But I realized it was time to pivot from those industries and serve a greater purpose. My own story is marked by heart-wrenching loss. At the age of 4, I lost my father, a military hero who selflessly served his country. I grew up without the guidance and counseling I needed to navigate the complexities of life. As years passed, I dedicated over a decade to giving back to adaptive military veterans and assisted living homes. Tragically, I also lost my boy to a drunk driver. These losses left my heart shattered. But in the midst of this pain, I realized that life has a way of revealing profound truths. My experiences taught me that our fallen heroes' parents also serve our community, often unnoticed. This realization ignited a profound transformation within me. Why limit our support to only the children of fallen military and first responders? That's when we decided to open up our programs to offer assistance to foster kids, caregivers, and introduced a variety of community outreach initiatives. When we brought all these groups together, something truly magical happened—they discovered they were not alone. In the shared pain and shared hope, they found strength, understanding, and a sense of belonging. Through our retreats and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) education programs, we're not just offering knowledge, but we're also mending broken hearts. We're giving these families a chance to heal, to connect, and to rebuild their lives. We also realized that to truly support the next generation, we needed to provide a strong foundation. That's why we extended our reach to include surviving spouses, guardians, and caregivers, as they are the bedrock upon which the future stands. If this foundation is broken, it affects the well-being of the child. In 2015, I established a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the families of fallen heroes. With my experiences and your support, we're not just changing lives; we're stitching together the torn pieces of shattered hearts and building bonds that will last a lifetime. This journey is deeply personal for me, and I'm inviting you to join our mission. Together, we can make a difference and create a world where no one ever feels alone. If you believe in the power of healing, of connection, of giving back, please reach out to me. Let's start a discussion right here, right now. Together, we can mend broken hearts and build unbreakable bonds. 💗 #Nonprofit #Community #GivingBack #PurposeDrivenLife #Hope #Inspiration #ChildrenOfFallenHeroes #STEAM #MakingADifference 🌈💪💕
