🌍 🌍 Hey geo awesome people! Exciting News from the Field of Open-Source Remote Sensing! 🌍 I'm thrilled to share a recent video showcasing a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) on ASTER imagery alongside a unique RGB composite of ASTER images. This composite, dubbed the "Vegetation Index Composite," includes NDVI in the red channel, VNIR band 2 in the green channel, and VNIR band 1 in the blue channel. 🔍 What does this mean? PCA helps in identifying patterns and emphasizing variation in large datasets, making it easier to explore the complex data collected by the ASTER sensor. Meanwhile, the Vegetation Index Composite provides a vivid, insightful view into vegetation health and land cover, crucial for environmental monitoring and management. 📊 Why is this important? Such advanced imaging techniques are vital for environmental research, offering more detailed insights into ecosystem health, urban planning, and climate change impacts. Feel free to check out the video to see these fascinating technologies in action. #RemoteSensing #Innovation #TechnologyInAction #OpenSource #AIplatform #MONITOREDAI #OPTNET #EnvironmentalScience #Geospatial #ASTER #PCA #NDVI Contains imagery provided by NASA Terra instrument ASTER Created with MONITORED AI - platform developed by OPT/NET BV
