My friend Ray posted this article this morning. So here is a challenge to think about. Consider the story in Genesis about the creation of the world. This isn't a debate about how you might interpret what six or seven days means. I challenge us to think about the theme. God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. That seems to me like it’s an example of productivity, a sample or pattern to follow. If you believe that God is still at work in the world, then He didn't retire. Therefore, if the creation story is an example, and you believe that he is still at work in the world, then what makes you think that you are to stop? Perhaps we might shift our energies based on our financial needs for our passions. Or maybe during our work life we shift from unskilled to competence to unique ability. Why would one stop their activity just when they were about to become the person that God had intended on them becoming as a person with influence, wisdom and understanding? You are uniquely prepared, have been given gifts by the Holy Spirit, and are qualified in His eyes to impact others. So, what is your decision going to be? Who do you trust to be willing to have a discussion with about a new paradigm? Reach out if need.
