VP where you at
Science & Technology Program Manager | Naval Oceanographer/METOC | NextOp Advisor | Passionate about Innovation, Data-informed Strategy, Effective Communication, and Veteran Advocacy
🛩🪂🛰🎇🚛🚁⚓ATTENTION VETERANS! First off, thank you for your service. On D-Day, we are reminded of the incredible sacrifice of those who have gone before us. All gave some, some gave all. Never forgotten! Secondly, we have different reasons for signing on the dotted line and raising our right hand. Regardless of the reason, we did it. We served. We share a bond that stands the test of time. As we remember our brothers and sisters in arms today, I would like to add a special request. Many of our fellow veterans are going through transition OR have transitioned and are currently unemployed. Can we commit, as a team, to posting and reposting job opportunities that call for military skill sets? Can we post/repost hiring events? Can we offer our time to search through open reqs with them to see if we can help them find a fit? Sometimes it takes someone from the inside spending time to show them what types of jobs list military skill sets in the qualifications. Maybe do a quick search once a week to see what's posted and then share the job on LinkedIn? Here's an example for an Acoustics Intelligence Analyst! https://lnkd.in/g-hrJ9mP? Let's continue to support our brothers and sisters, especially in the transition! Transition is harder for some than others. Let's continue to show everyone that we care and will do our part. Thank you!

Why are companies not willing to sponsor candidates for a secret clearance (T3) position? When I was an investigator they only cost around $450 to sponsor a clearance. I understand not sponsoring a top secret (T5), as those tend to be MUCH more, but according to the https://www.dcsa.mil/ website a secret clearance today is $345. Yes these are base prices and the longer a case goes on and the complexity of it, the more the price can rise. And trust me, I understand the allure of hiring transitioning service members/veterans. They are some of the most respectful, patient and professional individuals I came across. The amount of times I was called "sir" at the ages of 22-24 by all ranks, from enlisted up to the one general I interviewed, was eye opening. Yet, not being cleared shouldn't push companies away from a qualified, or close to qualified, candidate. To those who are cleared, keep it active until you are 100% sure you don't need it anymore. To this day I regret letting my TS lapse. Especially if you find a company willing to sponsor you. Nowadays they are a needle in a haystack. #clearedtalent #sponsoraclearance #hireaveteran #governmentcontractors

Air Force needs more software developers for modernization efforts, acquisition chief says “I don’t have any concerns about the quality of the people that we’re getting, it’s just that I want more," Andrew Hunter said. As the Air Force looks to integrate new capabilities across the service that hinge on modern software, its top weapons buyer said it needs to have more software developers in its workforce as initiatives progress. “I see a lot of challenges in our software development,” Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Andrew Hunter said Thursday during the McAleese Defense Programs Conference. “That’s a case where it’s not necessarily just a matter of time and we’re suddenly going to find all the software experts that we need to do the sophisticated, very complicated software development we need for some of these really advanced capabilities.” #penetrationtesting #cyberteam #training #cybertraining #offsec #hacking #pentesting #pentest #ethicalhacking #cybersecurity #cyber #testing #security #hunting #cyberthreatintelligence #threatintelligence #cti #blueteam #redteam #purpleteam #soc #ctir #cyberthreat #intelligence #cyberdefense #cyberdefence #ctf #bugbounty #cybervulnerability #cyberresearch #intelligence #cyberintelligence #trends #cybertrends #cyberattacks #dataprivacy #privacy #informationsecurity #supplychain #tech #datasecurity #future #skillgap #cyberskillgap #securityawarenesstraining #securityawareness #cybersecurityawareness #cybermindset #cyberstrategy #ciberseguranca #ciberseguridad #cyberreport #cybercommand #futuro #cio #ciso #ceo #cyberrisk #risk #grc #cybersurvey #usarmy #army #cybercommand #military #leaders #airforce #navy #spaceforce #usa #eua #dod #cyberforce #cyberwarfare #cybercommand #apt #software #owasp #artificialintelligence
