Dear Cow, do greener pastures beckon you? Does the grass there look fresh and juicy? Before you leave your current pasture for another, I suggest sauntering near and taking a closer look at it. Start by observing the health of those who graze there. Many farms today say that their cows are happy. Are fed an organic diet. No hormones. Don’t believe the advertisement, hang out with their cows. Also observe the farm owners. Do they care for the cows or are they nothing more than milk- machines? Also check what they do with the cows after they stop lactating. Or in winters when hay is scarce, or feed expensive. Or when milk demand drops. Chew some cud before you moo.
