We’re working to advance health and well-being for young people, ages 9 to 25, in Colorado who experience health inequities due to economic injustice, racism, and discrimination through strategic investments designed to support young people, strengthen families, and build youth-centered communities. Our new 10-year strategic direction is shaped by conversations with young people, their caregivers, and those who serve youth, as well as our research on adolescent developmental frameworks and our understanding of our niche in Colorado’s philanthropic landscape. Building Better Communities—what does that mean, exactly? To me, it is seeing this: our employee-owners came together to select the organizations we wanted to support, and our clients and friends helped determine how our support would be distributed. The best part is that these three organizations now have more resources to serve their communities.
During our annual Season of Sharing celebration, we supported three community organizations—Wounded Warrior Project, Habitat for Humanity, and The Humane Society of the United States. Based on votes from our clients, partners, and friends, we gave $17,200 to the Wounded Warrior Project, $13,200 to Habitat for Humanity, and $9,600 to the Humane Society. Wishing you a happy holiday season and a joyful new year!

Launched last summer, the Investing in America Child Care Partnership aims to increase access to high-quality, affordable early childhood education (#ECE) in communities where a substantial number of residents are employed in manufacturing. Initiated by The David and Lucile Packard Foundation and The Kresge Foundation, the public-private partnership is bringing together leaders from the business community, government, advocacy groups, and funding leaders, including Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) like IFF that are uniquely suited to help maximize the impact of investments in child care solutions.
