It’s a good principle and leads to a better understanding of the country as a whole. For companies it helps them understand their customers, staff and stakeholders. #representationmatters #equality #diversity

Over the past few days, I've been thinking about the way we conceptualize competition. In most settings and with most people, we're taught to see any endeavor undertaken by multiple people as a zero sum game. There can only be one winner which means that everyone else must be a loser. But this is simply not the truth. While a particular game with particular constraints may only allow one winner - a game of chess, for example - most scenarios in life allow for everyone to win. Now, that doesn’t mean everyone wins all in every scenario or that we win the same exact thing. Rather, it means that in every scenario we find ourselves in, we can find something valuable to take away, something that is valuable to us, the individual in particular. When we think about life that way, we see opportunities to develop ourselves instead of the fear that we will fall flat on our face in front of others. Competition that centers abundance over scarcity enriches our lives by creating a space to challenge ourselves, to grow and learn from others, without worrying that we are leaving something on the table or opening ourselves up to attack. Isn’t that a way more fun approach to competition than tearing each other down to reach a summit that simply does not exist? xoxo, Anj A lil musical inspiration: https://lnkd.in/ebtK8_4v PS this was an excerpt from my lil weekly digest. Fish and chips, stiff upper lip, endless cups of tea … Stereotypes can be fun. But they don't tell the whole story! From the rolling hills of Scotland to the bustling streets of London, Britain is a diverse nation—with people from all walks of life. So, is this "typically British"? ▪ Enjoying a pub night out with the mates (friends) ▪ Queuing patiently (even when the line is long!) ▪ Exploring the great outdoors ▪ Having dry wit and self-deprecating humour ▪ Appreciating a good cup of tea (but open to other drinks too!) ▪ Always being polite and respectful (saying 'please' and 'thank you') ▪ Celebrating quirky traditions like pancake flipping on Shrove Tuesday and fancy hat-wearing at Royal Ascot ▪ A passion for sports, with football reigning supreme What are your favourite "British" things? Share them in the comments and let's start a conversation! #EnglischSprechen #LetsTalkBusiness #SparksOfEnglish

🐲🐉🐲 端午节快乐 Wishing you a glorious time full of cheers, Joy, traditions, and customs of the Dragon Boat Festival. The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese Calendar. The holiday is celebrated by holding dragon boat races and eating sticky rice dumplings called zongzi. The Dragon Boat Festival is a folk festival integrating worship of gods and ancestors, praying for good luck, warding off evil spirits, celebrating, entertainment and eating. It became the first Chinese holiday to be officially approved for its inclusion in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. In some regions, people wear silk ribbons or threads of five colours - blue, red, yellow, white, and black, representing the five elements on the day of the Dragon Boat Festival believing that this will help keep evil away. . . . #lawyer #advocate #attorney #lawfirm #UAElawyers #Dubailawyers #GCC #ASEAN #sglawyer #hklawyer #arbitration #internationalarbitration #businesslaw #global #gllegal #globallegists

Health Service Executive, National Quality and Patient Safety Directorate, Programme Manager Staff Engagement for Quality
I'm sure every generation says they live in interesting times. This period may be more interesting than others. In the midst of going, doing and being, we sometimes do not get an opportunity to reflect on the world, on what's happening around us, on why things are the way they are. If you're interested in finding a space for reflection, you might like to participate in the Irish Group Relations Organisation (IGRO) spring study event. Running on the fourth Saturday of February, March and April, these sessions will take a paper or article in focus. Participants having read same in advance of the online study event will have an opportunity to listen to a short presentation from the author and then explore through a group discussion. It's open to anyone so if interested you can register via the eventbrite link https://lnkd.in/ekifP6Vm. The first study day is with Anne English on "Second generation Irish in Britain and Identity Issues". I look forward to facilitating with Gwen Hanrahan. It promises to be an interesting session. The Irish Group Relations Organisation was established to represent and promote the field of group relations in Ireland as an alternative way of understanding and making sense of the group dynamics of contemporary organisations and society in general. Group Relations is a methodology that seeks to understand the dynamics of leadership, authority and power and group, organisational, and systems dynamics. New members are always welcome. You do not have to be a member of IGRO to participate in the study session!
2nd Generation Irish in Britain -Interested? Details & Registration links below. Hopefully see you online soon - Thank you.
