Your next conference speaker. ‘Highly Commended’ at the Speaker Awards: BEST LIVE SPEAKER and BEST STORYTELLER. As a behavioural psychologist & author, I speak about relationships as the primary workplace currency.
"WE ONLY USE SPEAKERS FROM OUR OWN INDUSTRY" ----------------------------------- As a professional speaker, I occasionally get this response when putting myself forward for a conference. But - can anyone else see what might be wrong with this stance? Now - I'm not suggesting you SHOULDN'T have industry specialists to help your conference audience update their skills, knowledge, and, awareness. I am simply observing that some of the best ideas are 'Nicked' from other areas of business. I particularly like this example: 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝟕𝟎% 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚 𝟏 𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠.
