⛳️ DRILL OF THE WEEK ⛳️ - The Gate Putting Drill Do you struggle with speed control, start line issues or visualising the line to the hole for breaking putts? 🤔 The Gate Putting Drill is for you.👇🏻 The drill concept is to find a long breaking putt on your practise putting green & set up tees to act as gates for your ball to travel through from the start of the putt all the way to the finish to help improve visualisation, start line & speed control putting skills. To set up this drill you will need 6 x long tees & a coin. Start with placing the coin about 30ft away from@the hole that is either breaking left to right or right to left. Next set up 2 x tees (slightly wider than your putter width) about 3ft ahead of the coin. Stroke 5 - 10 putts with the intention to get the ball rolling through the tee pegs to the hole & show yourself you can roll your ball along your intended start line. Add another 2 tee pegs (slightly wider than your putter width) where you believe the apex point of the putt trace is (where the straight putt stops) & try to stroke putts through the 1st set of tees whilst also travelling through the 2nd set of tees, this shows you can visualise the break line whilst managing the start line. Finally set up the last 2 x tee pegs on the side of the hole you would like to see the ball enter the hole in whilst ensuring your ball rolls through the 1st two gates, if you can get all 3 gates you have shown you have great FEEL for speed control.
