Oliviero Toscani (1942–2025) was an outstanding photographer and astute thinker who combined art and advertising to challenge social norms. “Creativity has to be subversive” - his repeated visits to Ars Electronica were characterized by a creative dialog and a shared belief in the transformative role of art. We express our condolences to his family, colleagues, friends and companions. https://lnkd.in/gqzXfi7i

28-09 | 24-11 [at] MU.SA (Câmara Municipal de Sintra) “O Futuro Nasce a cada Amanhecer” | “The Future Rises with each Dawn” marks the inaugural public presentation of the Vasco Collection. More than merely existing in the present, with a stable form and defined body, the collection projects itself into the future, envisioning itself as an endless exercise of imagination and desire. At the same time, while much of private collecting with institutional aspirations seeks to define, in the present moment, which past will be important for the future, the Vasco Collection views collecting as the self-expression of individual subjectivity - subject to inflections, advances, setbacks, hesitations, but also unquestionable certainties. Far from being an exhaustive or definitive approach to the collection, the exhibition thematically explores the representation of the human figure, both through its presence and absence, as well as ideas of representation and identity, creating a path that is both sensitive and critical, where the human body is in constant transformation. #vascocollection #art #artcollection #artists

A virtual experience is a gate to observe art uniquely – a way to make the impossible possible. What cannot exist in the physical world can easily be a reality in the virtual. Online exhibitions and virtual art allow artists to explore art exhibitions from a fresh perspective. What happens when a painter and a rock musician collaborate to create an out-of-this-reality online art exhibition? Will the result be more than merely the sum of art and space? Painter Petri Ala-Maunus and rock musician Sami Yaffa created the La-La Land Dark Side virtual art exhibition and discovered a new dimension of creativity and inspiration. In art and art criticism, form and content are considered distinct aspects of a work of art. Master Katsumi Sakakura to me embodies perfectly the Japanese concept that the form is the content.
Art Labo Europe is very happy to collaborate with choreographer and Geibu master Katsumi Sakakura on international art projects. Meet the team at Fringe Festival 2024, Istanbul Sept 17th. https://lnkd.in/gS7dX_k3

Cult images never represent the personality or experiences of the individual artist, but rather the cultural ethos and sacred framework through which each deity expresses itself in the material world. https://lnkd.in/gdMhjcR7

“SUBLIME STONE 2024” By the artistic director of the event Bettino FRANCINI, president of the international association A.I.E.S.M. A new edition of Pietra Sublime returns to Cavriglia. It is a project that connects art with places and their use; that art which in all its forms is capable of regenerating, of dialogue, of conflict, of questioning our being in the world. What could a life be without art? How could we love life without loving ART? These are questions that I often ask myself together with the other artists who will work for this new Cavrigliese edition.

As a curator, you play a pivotal role in promoting an Art and the Artist. The Exhibition is a space that enables you to increase the relevance of every collection and help you create a connection between the Art and the viewer. One needs to have an understanding of the thematic concerns of every piece of Art exhibited, this helps you to be able to communicate the value of every piece to the audience. Nevertheless you need to consider and note down some key things you have to do to ensure the success of the Exhibition; *Marketing/publicity *Design/Exhibition space *selection and Assemblage of Works etc Being in a space of Colours is irresistible. #curator #artexhibition #contemporaryart

The National Gallery of Art has acquired paintings, sculptures, a video, and several photographs by contemporary Native American artists including Jeffrey Gibson (Mississippi Band of Choctaw). These acquisitions complement works already in the collection by artists including Marie Watt (Seneca Nation of Indians). https://ow.ly/ZAEm50UqMpX
